Problems with disconnecting

For the last few weeks I’ve been getting random disconnects/lag spikes in retail. Sometimes it won’t happen for hours and other times I’ll get disconnected as soon as I log in. I have a new router and all my other devices work fine. WoW is the only thing having this issue. I’ve tried just about everything there is to try, using command prompts to release and renew IP and reinstalled Windows. It seems like other people are also having similar issues so unless we all happen to have the same ISP, (mine is Xfinity if any Blizzard people actually look at this) there has to be something wrong with someone’s routing

I also have xfinity and have been experiencing intermittent lag where the game freezes for 3-5 seconds and then catches back up. Been about ~2.5 weeks or so

Been working with xfinity support troubleshooting - will post back if its resolved

It actually ended up costing me timing a key. If I wasn’t doing any group content it wouldn’t be as big of a deal

Are the classic servers you play on and the live servers in the same Data center?

Just to follow up-

Xfinity tech came out and couldnt find anything wrong with connections/signal/etc.

I printed them reports from the winMTR test and pingplotter (as recommended by many threads here) and he didnt know how to interpret them.

Based on google searches, it looks like one of the nodes is Blizz’s anti-ddosing node/server/location and seemed to be fussy for whatever reason.

I had the tech get my cable port working in my office that way I could hardwire to my pc - this has sense resolved the problem.

Still doesnt make sense though why the Wifi suddenly started having problems… went over 2 years with the same setup no issue.

If it’s the same hardware, devices wear out over time. Have to replace my router every few years.

So it could be our hardware. Interesting thought. The DCs often come with WOW51900319 error message. Looks like battle.net is the source, or my laptop wifi looses connection. Could be laptop overheating too, but like others it’s random. Turning off wifi on phone and smart tv helped reduce frequency of DCs for me, but didn’t eliminate them; still get at least 1 per 2 hours.

The router is probably on the way out if turning off access for other devices helped.

I been playing US server since vanilla time but recently server ping from Asia is horrendous reaching 10,000ping where I had screen shot. During weekend average 800 to 2000 ping for the past 4 months.
Service provider confirmed they had no issue with the local internet, but I strongly believed they had re-route the oversea cabling for the WOW servers.
All along ping dont reach 200 since day 1 and dont think I am able to play for the coming expansion with such condition.
Is US incompatible 4G internet technology causing this where we are all using 5G at the moment?

This has nothing to do with it. Lots of the US is on 5G - and 5G is not the backbone of US internet - that is wired fiber.

Since you mention 4 months ago, I wonder if the E African cable cuts have caused rerouting of that has resulted in more congestion or slower pathing.

Guys, i have the same issue. In ogrimar or bgs, mostly in the rush our… is impossible to play. Almost 1k ms. i tried uninstalling the game, without addons, with another internet conection… the same issue.

You also chimed in on an LA thread, which is the other side of the world. Please make a new thread with your connection tests so you don’t derail other discussions.
