Since I didn’t know how soulbound item’s worked I bought 2 of the same blue ring on the auction house. The game allowed me to do this without any warnings and then told me that I couldn’t take the 2nd ring from my mailbox. So i put the first ring back on the auction house and then took the 2nd ring from the mailbox and equiped it. The auction expired and now i’m stuck with a soulbound ring equiped to me and a ring I can’t take in my mailbox. The only option seems to be to vendor the ring i’m wearing and then take the other ring from the mailbox, but it seems very unfair that the game would allow me to buy a ring just to be forced to vendor it wasting a ton of my cash.
I think you can put the soulbound one in the bank and then get the one from the mailbox. I believe “unique” items only allow you to have one in your bags/equipped.
Yeah - the problem isn’t the ‘soulbound’ part. The problem is the ‘unique’ restriction. I don’t think putting the item in the bank will solve the issue since your bank is part of your inventory (but try it anyways because I could be wrong). I would suggest submitting a ticket to a GM to see if they can move the item from your mailbox to another one of your characters. They might not but then again maybe they will. It is worth a try.
Soulbound just means that once the item becomes soulbound to your character (either by picking it up (Bind on Pickup) or by equipping it (Bind on Equip)), you can’t give the item to another character. It can only be vendored, disenchanted (if you are the enchanter) or discarded.
