Problem with WoW 2

It just goes to show that it can happen.

And was the ad hominem comment necessary?

Someone’s qualifications do apply to their argument, its not quite the same as if they called you an idiot or something. I agree their tone was a bit harsh though, not very friendly, though these forums rarely are.

Not everyone here has to agree and many times, people disagree but to just attack someone you don’t know for no reason? I just don’t get it.

I mean, it’s exactly what you are though, is it not? You’re a low level, wow classic alt, with a hidden profile. How is that an attack?

There’s a myth that everyone prefers peaceful, friendly, fair conversations. I actually enjoy arguing with people, to me it feels more honest like we are getting our feelings out and expressing our ideas in the strongest terms we can. A lot of people don’t realize how much they enjoy slinging insults at each other. The problem of course, is its hard to tell when someone is genuinely upset you can be arguing with someone who is very much not feeling like its a “fight” and who feels harassed instead.

I’m a low level classic main. I have higher level alts. But you were using it in a condescending way and then following it up with a sarcastic remark rather than having a normal conversation like a decent person would. I’m more than happy to discuss reasons why to and not to do this.

Maybe my mind is doing the “tomato, toMAHto” thing. I don’t mind debating or discussing things. Arguing (at least to me) is when people start to get personal, sarcastic, etc which just isn’t necessary to get your point across.

As of right now there’s no reason for Blizzard to make a WoW 2.0 if they’re still making billions off the franchise each year. It also needs to be a modern game that appeals to a younger generation of players who are more interested in non-MMO based games.

You’re not wrong and it pains me to say it.

The younger generation of gamers want reward for no effort. They want accolades for doing nothing.

I can’t say I’d enjoy a game that was built on that foundation.

It was funny back during WOTLK we called those kinds of players “wrath babies”.

And thinking back, they were not so bad. It makes me wonder what the following generation will be like.

Using logic, I wonder if it’ll be something like “I want free rewards or I’m offended”.

I’d love to see wow remade from the ground up on a new engine and everything. But I’d agree with your stance solely on the fact that so many people had a stroke about updated player models.

Could only imagine the reeeee’s being echoed across the entire world if the entire game got a face lift.

If would have to be the same game but with fresh visuals, engine and possibly less restrictions from archaic things like not being able to be gnome paladins for example when their reasons are “just because”. You really do get more freedoms in other mmo’s that are less strict on things that are only visual and don’t hinder game balance at all. Look how long it took to get simply things like mogging into the game and how hard we’ve had to fight and complain for arbitrary restrictions to be lifted on cosmetics that will overall enhance ones enjoyment playing said game.

An absolute remake of wow with different lines of story and everything would be such a dumpster fire it would be shut down in under 6 months.

I wonder how older computers would handle updated graphics? Is that why Blizzard has refused to do it?

Most likely it besides the costs of doing it. I mean, they’re willing to fire/layoff people to turn quarterly profits. So the odds of them doing what final fantasy did would be heavily unfavored.

I honestly believe (even as a warcraft fanboy) if the graphics weren’t so accommodating to the ever aging pc’s I think they would be in serious trouble revenue wise at this point. I feel like it’s one of a few things that has kept them relevant for this long. They upped it some, but that engine can only look so good.

As I mentioned, FFXI did just that with FFXIV. It had tons of similar creatures, characters, etc but it was a complete remake. New story, new everything and it succeeded. It just depends on how they go about it. There is a chance to completely screw it up which will leave a permanent bad taste in many mouths or a chance to “WoW” (pun intended) people.

I played the original before wow and while I enjoyed the visuals, the gameplay was completely awful as it still had that old “you need to be grouped” to do anything system from the stone age. Think I played that for a year and honestly if it played anything like the one now it would still be pretty populated. From my understanding people still play it from a video I seen recently.

Which original?

You said ffxi did just that with ffxiv, xi was the 2002 first final fantasy mmo. I went from Anarchy online to that and to wow in 2004.

Unless you meant the original ffxiv. It was up for what, 2 years before they shut it down and redid it?

Be a tough sell on wow given how long it’s been up. Not saying I wouldn’t mind doing it all over again if the content was good, but I suspect Activision couldn’t pull off anything other than a reskinned call of duty game.

Not even sure why people keep feeling the need to make WoW 2 threads when this is NEVER going to happen in the first place.

A sequel is never the answer for an MMORPG.

If you were a Guild Wars 1 fan you’ll know what I’m talking about.
