I am a bit confused about the reason behind all of the queues. The reason for layering as I understood it was to minimize then number of people in one area by splitting them into individual copies of the same realm. If each layer can host x players (3000?), what is the problem with just adding more layers to alleviate the queues that are being seen right now?
I’ve been wondering the same thing. Why aren’t they spinning up more virtual copies (layers) of each server to get people in? This is day 2 and I still have yet to actually LOG IN. I have 3 hours of time to game after I get home from work, and so far my gaming experience has consisted of sitting in line. If I knew they were going to F the launch up this hard I would have waited 2 weeks to sub. Nothing like paying for an inaccessible service…
Exactly. I think there is concern about all of the extra people allowed onto a realm at once and what all those people would do to the economy, but if they plan on such a steep dropoff where layers will be gone by p2 all those players wealth will just disappear. It shouldn’t make that much of an impact I dont think.
