Problem with Heart of the Lion

I argue that Heart of the Lions as a rune is bad game design. How can I justify running any other rune in this slot if I am the only hunter in a group or raid? Can you change this back to an aspect and make it a book like aspect of viper and remove the extra 10% for the hunter using it?

Better yet, remove heart of the lions and wild strikes. Keep windfury on horde and blessing of kings on alliance. As it stands, if i’m the only hunter, everyone complains if I dont use HotL rune.

Complain about our pets in phase 1
Complain about hunter melee dps in phase 2
Complain when not running heart of the lions

But when you need help doing a hard quest like Broken Alliances or sandbagging for next phase, you dont hate us do you?

If they remove wild strikes no one would ever invite a feral druid to anything ever again. :frowning:

Apart from that HotL also needs a range buff. With how far hunters stand back sometimes it’s easy to range the buff if you aren’t in the same quadrant of a room, which really restricted positioning on fights like akumai and will for future fights as well.

This post is nonsense honestly

Why is it nonsense?

As a hunter I disagree here. It should be a choice and it should matter. When you’re raiding you should be focusing on supporting your team. If you want Unga Bunga big numbers have them recruit another hunter and bring nothing but dps to the raid. If you want to swap back and forth between BM melee and Surv Melee so you can unga bunga outside raid pay your gold.

I hate being forced into lion that’s all I have to say.

Why dont you just remove druid while you are at it my dude

I bet you paladin’s hate having to buff might or wisdom or sanc every 10 minutes more.

Yea should have been a qol book and would’ve been nice to get a actual class quest to maybe put your pets in 5 or 10 different stables across the world to unlock a bigger stable. But yea not nice feeling forced to run lion rune over anything else

The buffs don’t cost them a gameplay option though. If you run lion you can’t play lone wolf or any other chest rune.

Kings does

Ok so you want to play without your pet so you can unga bunga bigger single target hits. Just play warrior? Also its not blizzard “forcing you” into playing lion its the groups wanting the buff and probably the reason their bringing you. So you can chose to not do it and deal with having a harder time getting groups.

You can’t have everything, that’s how you get a class nerfed and nerfed hard. If you could bring Lion and get the 30% damage boost and carve all while being surv. You would see lone wolf nerfed back down to 15% in under 12 hours.

edit: All of this again coming from the perspective of someone maining hunter. I run BM melee because I’m the only hunter in raid. I would love to do surv but I’d rather the raid benefit more than me doing a bit more.

King is 1 talent point of your are prot.
I wanted to play gnomer as LW SV and ended up playing ranged BM for the team.
We had 3 paladins btw, not a single one was prot.

Why not Melee BM? Its maybe 50dps behind Surv…

I did melee for most of the bosses but we didn’t have enough ranged specs especially for the last one.

Another plus for staying BM. As long as you’re not stacking heavy str instead of agi you can change from a melee build to a ranged build without a respec. Just swap your runes.

I played BM lion bot for the whole first phase and want a change that’s it. Tbh I would be happy if lion was removed from the game.

It would suck to lose raid utility but thats a better option than giving both lion and lone wolf at once.

edit: Although without lion there is no chest rune worth using if you’re melee and want a pet. You’re forcing people into lone wolf.

Hey, if hunters don’t want HOTL then I as a rogue would happily take it from your hands. If we offered that utility, it would make it easier to get into a group as DPS :dracthyr_shrug:

Put it on our waist slot, Blizz.
