Problem with Blizzad DNS/server issues?

I cannot update retail WoW because of “a problem transferring data. please check you internet connect.” My internet connect is fine everywhere else. Also, Blizzard.net is giving me a DNS error and the Battle.net app is saying something about “network conditions” not allowing it to load personalized content or something.

I called my ISP and asked if they were having issues and the guy said Blizzard.net was down for him too on an off-network connect. So what is going on? Is Blizzard having trouble today or not?

I updated my Beta client about 10 minutes ago with no issue. That doesn’t mean there isn’t a problem between you and your ISP guy, and Blizzard.

blizzard.net is not a site that exists.

most of the time issues like this are caused by something on your computer blocking the updater from working. it could be directly like security software, or just some setting on your computer that isn’t letting it work right like a permissions problem. it can also be a connection issue sometimes. here are some things to try https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/28436

It was something between my ISP and Blizzard. I did nothing and things seem to be fixed now and I’m playing again. Was very strange.
