Get a grip man. It’s reasonable that a healer class has a dps spec to get it’s daily questing done.

Adding paladins to the Horde in tbc didn’t stop there being a tank shortage
Adding dks in wrath didn’t stop there being a tank shortage
Adding monks in mists didn’t stop there being a tank shortage
Adding dhs didn’t stop there being a tank shortage
Why would another class that can tank stop there being a tank shortage?

You’re either tanking now or you’ll never tank. I don’t remember DH helping with the tanking crisis, I just remember a lot of Havocs running around face pulling everything.

That is actually reasonable.
I’ll likely revert to PvE after a SUPER long PvE vacation because of this new class (last time I really played PvE was MoP & BFA Eternal Palace). I’ll definitely heal since I’ll get a fresh start with everyone else with the new class.

Actually if they add another tank in the dragon class - those of us who like to tank will take advantage of it. I have been tanking as a druid since vanilla (when it wasnt cool for bear tanks to exist) and as they have added tanks I slowly made an alt of each one. I am pretty sure others are doing the same thing. Those of us who love to tank would love a dragon tank spec.

I think less people overall like to pug tank is the issue. I’m no expert but it seems like in say raiding guilds theres never a problem of not enough tanks.

But you’re already tanking. As others have said here adding a new Tank class wouldn’t help the Tank shortage at all. It would just have players who already Tank trying out the new spec.
The Tank issue is worse than ever because M+ has put even more pressure on that role to know the best routes. Since that design isn’t changing as far as I can see Tanks will remain in short supply.

the underlying premise is that with a new Ranged dps/healer class, veteran tanks will take advantage of the surge of ranged dps/healer dragons to begin to lay down the tanking routes for dungeons and be ready for mystic+ dungeons at endgame thanks to all the healers and dps in the group que
considering that they’ve added tanks 3 different times, it hasnt done anything for tanking, you want more tanks then the game has to be fun to tank, which means the players have to stop being elitist pricks.

If it wasn’t so wildly punishing that would be nice. If I didn’t get ree’d at or kicked for not knowing every speedrun strat and not flawlessly playing maybe I’d wanna tank more. I love tanking leveling dungeons and lowbie classic dungeons for that reason: People don’t care as much.

The attitudes of the community need to change for there to be more tanks. There’s a lot of responsibility with tanks (dungeon layout knowledge, pathing, memorizing all dungeon mechanics) and too many in the PuG world have no patience for a new to tanking person.

His point is that if dragons could tank it would have motivated more players to play as tanks.
The op is right. Blizz should have figured this out. Tank is the least playable role in the game and we all know that. It is always good to have more tanking classes.
