IDK about you guys but I find this hilarious. This pro league of legends player was streaming and he accidentally tabbed into his wow screen for awhile and Riot Games (the makers of LoL and owners of the esports scene) fined his team $1,000 for a “content violation”. Looks like someone is mad or scared that the old version of WoW is literally out performing their game. xD

Probably should find a real job

Classic Esports would be better than LoL.
It is a real job. That’s why he got fined for playing games while doing his job.

Satire. You should learn it.
I mean he just alt tabbed accidentally and it showed his character, and they punished him that much? I feel like if it was another game like candy crush they wouldn’t have cared…they are scared of WoW’s success.
You don’t know what satire is if you think that was satire.

Even the game itself is pretty strict. People say WoW is controlling, on League if you even call someone a noob you can potentially get a chat restriction.
Base minimum salary in the LCS is reported at around 75k USD, with the average considerably higher than that. I’d say they’re doing just fine.

Basically every single e sport does this though. Even Blizzard does with their OWL players. Like a year ago the “requirements” for the OWL were leaked or whatever and it was honestly cult levels. You couldn’t have an OPINION on anything not related to Overwatch so if someone in chat asked like “what do you think about BL3” or whatever you literally COULD NOT address that question without getting fined.
He probably has an exclusive contract that he’s only allowed to stream approved games and classic isn’t on that list. Which is pretty common with any ethlete.
So the title is misleading, he didn’t get fined for playing WoW, he got fined for streaming it.

If that’s how you measure success then as an emergency responder I’m more successful than any office cubicle monkey in a clip-on tie, or anyone in the entire entertainment industry. Still only making 40k a year, though.
id agree. you should be getting more than that though. buddy of mine was a fireman and finished some EMT training thing and now he gets paid 60
unless you live in the middle of nowhere or something
He/she probably makes more money than you

double ironic that lol is based off dota, which was a warcraft 3 map
So, you guys get to play WoW Classic at work without repercussions too right? Riot certainly is a controlling, image obsessed, jealous, and overbearing company, but he did sign a contract with them to be able to operate as an e-sports player, and in that contract they stipulate no streaming other games while you have LoL flagged. Due to massive queue times at the top, many pros would play other games while waiting, and Riot, rightly or wrongly, didn’t want these games piggybacking off of a League of Legends stream. Before they made this stipulation, many of their pros would actually accept sponsorships from other games to do just that in queue, so Riot rolled out this as a response.
$1000 thats like a penny to riot more of a douche move than anything bad pr is still pr though
