Thats debatable. The whole “you think you do but you don’t” thing was a marketing strategy. Blizzard has a long standing history of taking things that work from other games and making them their own, classic servers were something Everquest invented almost a decade ago. Claiming some rogues on a private server are the reason we have classic is quite the stretch.

Private servers are all dead. Turns out people only played on them because there were no other alternatives. Wrath/cata pservers might see a spike in the next couple years before they die like their predecessors

You could even make a pretty strong case that Pservers hurt/delayed Classic Wow because they blunted a lot of the demand, both before and during. Players who would otherwise have been clamoring for an official classic years earlier weren’t as vocal because they were able to get their fix from Pservers, and a lot of people burned out and quit earlier because they’d already been playing on Pservers for months/years before classic launched (see Apes.)

Idc what the sweats say, I ain’t playin no shadowlands. I’ll play wotlk classic though, if and when it has dungeon finder, a better honor pvp gear system, and dual spec. People actin like just because I like vanilla coke I should go drink diet pepsi, ain’t happenin, and to compare wotlk to shadowlands makes you look really really dumb and lazy. Lazy being the fact that you just resort to go back to retail instead of using your brain whenever you read something you don’t like, aka boomer mindset. It’s a real reaction people have sometimes, their brain poops up and they go reeee and spit out some pre-memorized response.

If you make your own P-server, you can make any changes you like. Maybe you should do that.

No that’s stupid and also not really do-able because I’m not rich. Not a very witty comment, but I’ll give you 2/10 for effort.
What you want doesn’t seem to be happening, so people are just trying to give you an alternative that you have some control over (play retail, play on pserver, create pserver, etc). Blizzard hasn’t given us any indication that they are moving toward what you hope will happen.
You can hope in one hand…

A friend of mine in a game that definitely wasn’t WOW set one up for us to practice/play around on. It wasn’t perfect, but was close enough. And he was just a guy who spent a couple hours figuring it out.
Yep. I’d say 90% of the people playing this game could roll out a PS without too much trouble. Regular Joes have been doing this forever. Back in vanilla people were making “fun” servers just for kicks.

Most private servers had dual spec.
Most private servers had a form of dungeon finder.
Most Private servers had either a boost to max level or 5x the experience gained. Something to those extents.
Not a single private server had this.
Seams like what your looking for IS a private server.
