Yeah but off gcd abilities in a macro will save you time. In arena, you have small windows of opportunity and every second counts.
Being able to get your burst out even .5 seconds faster can mean the difference in a W or a L.

I agree, and any player worth their salt will macro in off-gcds when they can to improve their burst, but what does that have to do with sequencing?
Sequencing removes human error from your burst rotation.
So does practice though. Hitting buttons in the right order is not a crazy maneuver and can be practiced to a level where a sequence macro provides no benefit.
edit - I dont think sequencing macros are the hill to die on tbh
I agree that it’s not ideal to use them when you have a simple burst rotation but in the case of deathbolt where even a small mistake will cost you quite a bit of burst damage, it’s worth it.
No, you don’t “need” it but it’s nice to be able to focus on other things instead of trying to hit your 8 ability burst rotation perfectly.
Aren’t cast sequence macros not a thing anymore?
You can definitely still use them.
I made one for my rogue last xpac by watching a burst guide and simply making a castsequence macro with the abilities in the order the guy used them in.
I was 1 shotting like a pro but I’m really really bad at rogue so if I didn’t get the 1 shot, I’d usually lose
I also made one for the boomkin convoke 1 shot that was hilarious. Pop out of stealth with all damage cds rolling and pop convoke before you’re targeted. I always got at least half the convoke off.
I’m actually floored. I thought for sure they removed them from the game for these very reasons.
Unless they took them out in the last couple of months, they should still be working.
It’s actually pretty fun to make them work.
Yeah the removal of addons from pvp will completely make the game more casual friendly and increase population and blizzard revenue. The addons are completely game changing and it’s insane/detrimental to the game. I lol’d about the fog horn… imagine walking through ashenvale about to pvp and someone pops a cd and all you hear is a foghorn lmao
They made it so ret couldn’t cast sequence back in wotlk lol
Sequence macros are an actual liability.
Arena is dynamic. Sometimes you need to interrupt your “burst rotation” to peel, because saving your partner is more important than big dam. Sometimes you need to need to use utility or mobility spells. Sometimes an enemy hits a defensive and it’s more prudent to swap targets than to funnel damage into reduction.
All a cast sequence does is reduce your ability to counter enemy actions. What a silly thing to complain about.
I think almost More importantly the audio clarity needs to return.
Virtually Every ability used to sound unique to the point where you could basically play by ear. The sound is kinda chaotic these days though.
Saving private auras
Haha
Aahh
Ah
If I may ask, what specific auras (buffs/debuffs) would you like to hide from your opponents? or what do yo mean be implementing this to PVP?
IMO some addons should be baseline and be integrated on the default UI (just like bigdebuffs does) like all burst spells and all defensive spells, interrupts and DR should be clearly visible on frames
Break all tracking addons in PvP. Even as someone with the mid-combat awareness of an inanimate object I think the game desperately needs more ways to differentiate players. Giving awareness a higher skill floor is a good way to do that.
If this means I won’t need a weak auras to see my shaman’s stream of dust earthen wall totem I’m down for it
That’s an interesting question.
It’s clear that macros do give competitive advantages.
For example, instead of manually targeting a teammate and then dispelling them, we have macros that shortcut the process. That’s an advantage over players who step into arenas without such macros.
People still use them.
I think I use one to prevent me from accidentally using both charges of a defensive.
It can be a bit of a mess if multiple people press CDs simultaneously. Not sure if there’s a good solution to that.
Like the new particle effect setting, you should be able to filter out non-essential sounds.
I meant if all the sounds are essential and they’re happening at the same time (e.g. everyone pressing their damage CDs at the same moment). The audio might get garbled/confusing.
