Privacy of alts

To each is their own. I don’t care what your name is, guild name or whatever if it doesn’t affect the outcome of the content I’m doing

yes.

in fact, they should make it even more obvious what alts are what.

bring back cogshanks.

Good tool until it was starting to be used by people to call out folks on the forum, which is a no no. When you post, and it shows every character they might of ever posted on, basically makes it a call out post to the mods I guess.

Yeah. I don’t support it being used to call people out. I just liked it to help me decide who to post replies to that were looking for a guild.

I can certainly see there’s a need for guild recruiters to check out applicants. But it’s also an issue that there are a number of creepy stalkers on the forum that brag about how far they go to stalk and harass other people. Usually posting that brag on an untraceable alt.

Some people rp on the forums and I like to switch around depending on the topic. I agree with you that battle tag should be how we are identified on the forums, but we should also be able to choose one of our characters as our avatar.

what people do with a thing doesn’t stop it from being a good tool.

the amount of “websites” out there pulling character informations is kinda weird… but what is much much much worse is people going detective creep and start digging through armories in order to bash your opinion for e-points.

Sorry to inform you but Businesses take very seriously what people do outside the workplace. Background checks are the norm. Working at an ISP for over 20 years, and we still get a background check every year that includes child abuse clearance. And one hit on that and you are gone.

Sorry to burst your little bubble.

It doesn’t matter to me. I don’t think I even have another character with 10 posts and I don’t comment on stuff I haven’t done in game, raiding or high end PvP stuff like that. I have nothing to hide.

Businesses don’t care? LOL you are an idiot. Problem with that is an idiot has no idea how stupid they are, just everyone else around them knows. Let me guess, you are posting now on your main, not your level 10 alt?

Lol, I first thought of ol’ Raistlin. Bro used to go on tirades if you looked up his char stats, considered it a slap in the face.

This thread makes me want to get trashed so I can go through the torture of making a Classic WoW alt.

You don’t own your characters or any of the information so yes I believe Blizz should be allowed to let people access THEIR alts

Just make a classic alt and troll the forums like I do. People get irrationally angry and still don’t realize they can just not respond to someone - you know, like a sane person would decide.

Going through the agony of leveling to 10 in Classic does not sound worth it whatsoever. I’d rather let the stalkers expose themselves for what they are than deal with Classic.

yeah, everything should be available to the public.

quit doing stuff that you need to hide, and you wouldn’t be worried about it.
