Pristine Servers

If they did indeed consider Pristine servers prior to going ahead with Classic (although the two concepts are quite different) it would be good if they would clarify that and give closure to it. As in, just come out and say “we thought about it and decided to go ahead with Classic rather than the concept of Pristine servers”. Would save a lot of to-and-fro about it, beyond purely philosophical discussion.

So to you… Literally anything that moves against the grain of making things easier for the player is moving towards Vanilla?

Using bugs as an excuse is not really fair. That’s by definition an unintended effect. Report the bug and move on.

And did you do ANY of the other leveling during WoD? It was obscene… If Vanilla leveling was at 1x speed, leveling during WoD was at around 50x speed. They nerfed it back to around 10x (which I already admitted was probably too much), and now they’ve gone back up to 20x. It took me weeks to months of play to hit max back during the old style. You could level from 1-100 in less than a day (not played time) in WoD. Particularly if you made use of RaF, exp potions, and heirlooms. All of which were EASILY obtained.

As opposed to what? Doing one or two hubs and immediately out leveling the zone? Cause doing a few quests in every zone clearly gives you a good idea of what was happening in those zones.

Uh… Yes? I did my invasion/main questline quest while I leveled? Am I wrong here? I don’t remember their being an “attunement” to open up all of the WQ. If there was… the fact that I don’t even remember it 3-4 months after I did it shows how much of a non-issue it was.

Ok, just stop. The players set the market. Not the developers. If we were getting 500kg a week, then flasks would cost 50kg instead of 1-2kg. No one is punishing anyone. At the rate we were increasing in gold acquisition at the end of WoD, we’d all be getting absolutely insane amounts at this point.

They’d have to set the gold amounts for the brontosaur to 50M instead of 5M. It’s all relative, and aside from the specific items the devs put in as gold sinks… it’s all a player driven currency requirement. If you can’t make enough to cover your own repairs, then that’s a you issue.

The fact that they’ve never talked about it again, even in passing, sorta speaks for itself on whether they’re considering it.

You had to be friendly with the factions and I think have unlocked all 3 main hubs on the other island. Pretty much if you followed the story/played it was instantaneous upon dinging 120.

edit: Unless he means difficulty-wise? If that is the case: Yes, I was able to do all of the WQ as soon as I dinged 120.

As a total hijack of this thread:

I don’t know where you’ve been but you write so well that I just had to say this.

I have no opinion about this subject at hand and was just idly skimming when I got to this post. You wrote “meritocracies” - probably the first time that word showed up on GD. Totally poetic post.

Do you write for a living?

TBH it’s hard for me to believe that they’ll actually turn it off. I still feel like sharding and CRZ on RP servers didn’t turn out as promised.

Blizzard has done this in the past:

The problem is that a “Pristine” server is only such, for about ten minutes.

A bunch of people level up ASAP, then the whole thing starts again. That “pristine feel” wears off pretty fast.

I don’t think you understand what a “pristine” server is.

Pristine Servers did not have code changes… all they were talking about is a new set of servers with CRZ disabled (because they would be in their own battle group). No transfers to or from the server would be allowed. That is basically all they were talking about when the floated the Pristine Server idea… people mutated the idea into thinking they were going to make code changes like disable LFG and LFR; but they never mentioned this. The community would come from the fact that even if you did LFR they would always come from your server.

They don’t want to maintain different code bases for different rule sets.

They have not changed it for the last 10 levels… which all feel like hell-levels.

I used to like leveling. When a new expansion dropped I used to like leveling all my characters to max level. It was fun. With the terrible and painful leveling now I hate it… DREAD IT. I have only managed to level a few of my characters to max. I hate the leveling speed now… it is terrible. Blizzard thinks it makes people play more… but it does not… I play less now because when I see 6 more characters sitting at 110 or 111, I cannot stand the grind just to do the simple stuff non-competitive stuff that I want to do.

edit: I get that some people like the current level speed… but heirlooms should be drastically buffed (and work to max level) for people that do not want to level that slow.

Not happening.

Not sure if the OP is a failure of a lackluster translation app or phone-posting…

That’s a mighty big assumption there, Chief.

well i for one want them

What confuses you? I would be happy to reiterate it.
