Primal Storm Observers

I think the events would work a little better if there was a visual queue as to how close players were to generating a boss. Many (including myself) are happy to sit above the fray & just wait it out, only jumping down to kill the boss once activated. If there was a bar to fill, for example, followed by the existing bar to empty out I think you’d see more engagement. That is all.

I think there should be an incentive to killing smaller elite minions grant you a buff that increases your chance at getting loot like the primeval essences, loot drops from the final boss gives extra items, and a higher chance at the heirloom item. Those watching overhead can still do that, but those who are doing all the work progressing it get better chances at the rewards.

Do mobs need to be killed to generate a boss? I thought it was just a 30ish minute timer. In Un’goro, for example, I have been questing in the downtime while I wait for a skull to appear.

Its on a timer.

You killing mobs before the boss actually spawns has zero impact.

Nobody is doing any work outside of the shield phase. You are just killing things for the sake of it.

Ah ok. I guess that explains the lack of progress bar. Thanks for the info.

The spawn about every 20 mins.

Now when you say more engagement do you mean players on the ground or you waiting in the air for the boss to go live?

20 min timer for boss to come up at the events.

I like when the elemantal boss just exits Azeroth when the the timer is up for that event.
It punches its time card and puts on its hat and leaves work.

Hovering above, not helping until the boss is available. I thought this was prolonging the agony but apparently it’s all preordained on timers & engagement or lack thereof doesn’t hurt or help in any way.

Actually they’ll generate with no help. On my server there was noone in Un’goro doing the Fire boss so i just sat on top of the portal. Damn near had a heart attack when the boss popped up.

Then how would bars make it more engaging for either?

I’m with you on the hover over. I land and kill when bored but Blizz really needs to fix the tag issue. Plus if you really don’t need the currency there’s not much point. Don’t think anything else drops off those mobs.

Nevermind, I thought you had to kill the scrubs to get to the king. My bad!

I didn’t understand it fully. My belief was that people hovering instead of helping were making things take longer. That is not the case. If that WERE the case, like I thought, I believed IF a bar was present more people might jump down & push it to full just to get it overwith sooner.

Oh I see what you mean. I wasn’t completely understanding. I mean if anything by hovering and being there maybe health scales up more on the mobs but there’s so many people blowing them up anyway.

The only reason to kill before the boss spawns is farming essence or leveling alts as it is extremely fast. Got an alt from 53-60 in under an hr just tagging mobs

Did have a freak event where a boss event started RIGHT AFTER we killed the boss.

Was, interesting. If not time saving.

lmao.

seems to be on 30minute timers. when the boss spawns then the bar comes up 100/100 mobs to kill and its just rinse and repeat then. doesn’t matter if you spawn the boss before the node timer runs out it all disappears once the 3 hour timer is up.

you do not have to kill any mobs within the node prior to spawn the boss that i know of most people doing it is basically to level as the exp from killing the rares are pretty fast to get you to 60 faster then grinding SL quest imo.

Nope, 20-30min boss respawn time.

they should work on fixing the lag from having so many people in one small area + the evokers spamming disintegrate doesnt seem to be helping much either with all the lag that happens server side from farming groups waiting for bosses to spawn
