Try macroing it. It worked for me. Good as a temporary work around until blizzard fixes the button. The macro is /cast Primal Rage.
Just experienced this in a +12 with a tank who was a jerk, a healer kept dying, and no lust. I just took the penalty for leaving, it was my key and it was bricked. Constantly gave the “Invalid Target” error. Unfortunately there wasn’t much to be done.
Primal Rage (Pet Command) has started reporting “Invalid Target”
Primal Rage (Ferocity Ability) has started “dimming” as if its a spell you are not spec’d into, however it will seemingly randomly switch between clickable and not clickable.
When Primal Rage (Ferocity Ability) in a “not clickable” state (as if you are not spec’d into it or do not have a Ferocity pet out), it cannot be used from the bar either through hot key or manually clicking. However if you open your spell book, can be used directly from the spell book.
When Primal Rage (Ferocity Ability) becomes “not clickable” during combat, a /reload command seems to make it clickable again. But whatever happens in combat that disables the button happens frequently and the button quickly becomes unusable again.
The expiration of buffs seems to trigger Primal Rage (Ferocity Ability) to be clickable again. Notably - the button becomes clickable exactly 12 seconds after the use of Bestial Wrath, however quickly becomes unclickable again despite not clicking any other buttons. This is very repeatable outside of combat.
- Reload to have a fresh game
- Click “Bestial Wrath”
- Wait between 6 and 30 seconds (disabling of the button does not seem consistent)
- Observe Primal Rage (Ferocity Ability) cannot be used.
- After “Bestial Wrath” cooldown, use it again
- Wait 12 seconds
- Observe the button is clickable
- Wait 6-30 seconds
- Observe the button is not clickable
Other abilities seem to cause the Primal Rage (Ferocity Ability) to get disabled quicker. Though I’ve not been able to determine any rhyme or reason to it.
The Primal Rage (Pet Command) cannot be used even from the spell book.
The only work around I’ve found that seems to be fairly consistent is to use it from the Pet tab of your spell book. Kinda sucks given lust is the only utility that allows us to get accepted into keys most of the time.

Guys, create a macro to use the skill, it worked for me while they fix this bug

Absolutely nothing is working for me. It’s just saying invalid target lol.
Had the same issue in the middle of a key as a survival hunter. Didn’t kill the key fortunately. Tried resummoning pet, switching pets, reloading UI, switching my pet’s type back and forth. Making a macro was the only thing that worked for now.

Also had this happen in a key last night. So frustrating. Macro worked for me after I found this was a widespread issue on the discord.

I’m writing to report an issue affecting Beast Mastery Hunters where pets are not allowing the use of Primal Rage (Heroism/Bloodlust equivalent).
Under normal conditions, BM Hunters should be able to trigger Primal Rage through Ferocity pets. However, currently the ability is either unavailable, not activating, or behaving inconsistently despite meeting the correct conditions (Ferocity pet active, ability off cooldown, etc.).
This is a significant problem, especially in group content where Hunters are expected to provide Lust when needed. It puts BM Hunters at a disadvantage and can negatively impact dungeon and raid performance.
Please investigate this issue and provide clarification on whether this is a known bug or an unintended change. Any updates or fixes would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: For anybody reading this, make a macro using /cast Primal Rage and it should work for now

Macro does not work for me, but dragging the Primal Rage ability from the pet spell book to the pet bar did work for me.

Having the same issue
Not only is lust not working whether via command pet / from actual pet bar / macro but sometimes the pet bars are just gone altogether….
Pet bars missing was a bug at the start of Manaforge Omega patch …. here we go again!!!
And nothing works, dismiss & resummon, relog, restart…none help
Mind you, restart is not even an option in M+
So many separate bug reports for the same issue …..don’t want to see another drawn out fix like Manaforge Omega pet bug
