Priest Spell Customisations: Aesthetic Spells & Lore

Hey guys! This is moreso a customisation thread for the class than a gameplay one, however I know it’s one people struggle with in roleplaying via their class-identities which correlate with the race they’ve chosen for whatever reason.

Shadow Priest:

I’ll start with Shadow, since it’s a good way to set the bar to give the gist of what I’m talking about. With this spec, it’s kind of collided with various people’s class identities in correlation with their race & lore – Primarily Lightforged Draenie and the Blood Elves (Since any use of void isn’t canon among them), so the suggestions I have are:

  • Begin a questline given by a representative of both a LFD & BE joining together to seize a new source of power (much like the Fel-flame for warlock).
  • Ultimately leading to a light-based aesthetic ‘Shadow-form’ or an Arcane one (Blue variant).

Arcane is simple & rather surprising, which could be a fun twist for the players – so I thought it’d be neat to see something along those lines (and could probably be extended to disc).

Holy Priest:

Same with Shadow, it’s collided with those who are triggered by rivers of lore not clashing with their chosen race well, along with the identity they’ve assorted. With this spec, it primarily irks Void Elves and Mag’har Orcs.

  • Begin a questline given by a representative of both a Mag’har Orcs & Void Elves joining together to seize a new source of power (as per above with Shadow).
  • Ultimately leading to SHADOW-based aesthetic ‘holy’ spells.

If they execute the questlines imaginatively enough, they could open the questlines for ALL races of priests allowing them to access different vibes of their spell-aesthetic through their unlocked customisations.
