Priest Professions?

I’d think tailoring would be ideal, even obvious: robes, bags, etc. I could pair it with enchanting, for wands; skinning, for those recipes that require leather; herbalism or mining, to sell. But it’s such a grind, especially in the beginning.

Alchemy would be awesome: Be nice to have mana potions, intellect and spell-power elixirs. Can level it as I quest.

Or I could do Engineering: cloth helms, craft guns and ammo for my hunter alt. And there’s something cool and hilarious about a priest with dynamite. “Praise the Lord, and pass the ammunition.”

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Most priests I knew of back in the day went tailoring/enchanting while alchemy/herbalist was a close second. Both have their pros and cons. Tailoring for instance has bags but the later bags (16 and 18 slotters) unless you buy the mats can take days to weeks to make on your own. Mooncloth had a 2 day cooldown and took 4 per 16 slot bag. Mages also go tailoring for some good epic gear as well as healing priests.

Alchemy is great because you can grant yourself extra buffs to make yourself more powerful/versatile and the arcanite bar transmute is a great way to make some good pocket change later on. Flasks will be your best money maker though but comes with a price. Black Lotus was a pain to acquire and there were only 2 places in all Azeroth where you could craft them: Blackwing Lair and Scholomance. Herbs also sell since they will always be on demand.

I personally will be going Tailoring/herbalism. Tailoring for personal needs and herbalism for a moneymaker.

Hmm. Best of both worlds. I like it. Thank you.

If you want to go the tailoring/echanting route, I suggest doing something like leveling as skinning/tailoring or skinning/enchanting, and then switch when you’re high level.

When I tried leveling with both tailoring and enchanting, I was constantly broke until I swapped one out for a gathering profession.

Truefaith Vestments (https://classicdb.ch/?item=14154) are BiS for priests for quite a while. That alone is worth picking up tailoring.

Depends on what you want from the game. Minmaxers will want tailoring for the truefaith robes. Absolute tryhsrds in PvE will also pick engineering so you can do dps in between healing. (On that note, if PvP if your main focus, engineering will be manditory). If money making is your thing, you’ll want herbalism and Alchemy. You could also take skinning if you see yourself grinding in the world a lot.

The possibilities are endless!
