Priest or Shaman or Druid main?

Question is the title, I enjoy priest for raw strong and efficient healing capabilities only magic purge (playing horde side) . Shadow feels great for pvp, the utility is awesome magic purge bubbles silence etc. Where shaman feels great for totem utility (Tremor grounding aoe slow etc) great offensive purge and good burst(RNG reliant if you’re not 31 in ele). So there are reasons I wanna play both but don’t wanna do both. So for a general use main, which would you guys say is better? Wpvp/Premade/Solo Qing BGs, pve heals (maybe dps as either if i somehow can land a spot). Pros/Cons/tips/opinions for both would be very appreciated :).

If I remember right, shaman level faster and are more convenient than priests. Shaman get astral recall, so they can heath every 20 or 30 minutes (I forget which), they can walk on water, and they get ghost wolf for mobility. They can also use less mana, especially if they are enhancement.

I love shaman so I am biased but I find convenience to be really important in vanilla where everything takes so long to do

i thought shamans were always considered second class in this game.

I think if you want raw healing power, go priest.

If you want fun utility with good group / raid heal, go shaman.

Obviously, if I were making the choice, I’d go shaman

:sunglasses:

Also at end game their are a bunch of other classes that can use cloth gear, not a lot that can utilize spell chain mail

Also at end game, shaman tier sets look pretty freakin’ awesome.

Oh yea the sets and utilities are awesome as a shaman. I enjoy the priest sets a lot and benediction /anathema. Priest has good utility too and a save a day button with bubbles if used well. But I don’t mind how either is in pve just wanna be good In overall in PvP haha

Well in that case: “You will melt faces as a shadow priest in pvp.”

We don’t know yet. We are still waiting for an “influencer” to tell is what we are supposed to play

I love shaman, but i leveled much faster as a priest. Wand efficiency is real, early on - and then 40+ with Shadowform respec? No competition.

Yea I feel leveling as a priest would be easier, but shaman in a duo/group leveling deal is awesome. Also like previously mentioned not as many respecs of a guild is lenient for shamans. but shadow is just dang good lol since ele kinda gets pooped on by curse of tongues unless you have a good druid or mage friend. D: It’s a hard choice. strawpoll com/agbkwa76 for a quick vote

I don’t know how it started, but SP melts faces for sure.

The etymology of the meme is that the icon for Mind Flay looks kind of like a face being melted.

I don’t remember what post took that and built on it to turn it into a meme, but it was based on the Mind Flay icon.

Priest.

Never playing a Shaman in early WoW, but main in early BFA, I like them and will probably give one a shot in Classic.

I played both in Vanilla. They are both extremely strong.

Shaman has more utility. Priest has more throughput. High end raids will take one shadow priest to raids. Mid-tier guilds will settle for an enh/ele shaman, but they are suboptimal.

Undead shadow priest.

I did an Undead Shadow Priest in Vanilla. PvP only.

Shaman level faster and are harder to gear and play. With shadow priest you can skip raiding entirely and just go and own pvp.

A good shaman brings more utility to large group pvp than any other class I can think of. Unfortunately with AV 1.12 large group pvp all but disappears. A shaman’s best skills are almost never used.

Wow is a pve game for potatoes who won’t leave the city without a premade and who think spending three hours killing a raid boss is ‘real gaming’.

Yea this is kind of my general thought on it all also, having an “viable” option for shadow in pve is the most appealing to me, and in pvp has upfront damage and dots which is a mix of the play styles I enjoy. But being a great healer overall is a big + cause you’re taken to just about everything. Shaman utility is really great just unfortunate it’s only group wide :(.

On the other hand it is mainly leaning towards priest but druid is a big choice for me too, but they just feel lacking when people do get fully geared.

Are Shamans going to be able to tank again?

I remember in Pre-BC a fellow guildy was our Main Tank was a Shammy. Had to power level a warrior when blizz killed that.

outside of dungeons I don’t think shaman tanks will be a viable actual thing.
