Priest kick

I am going to start this off by saying first and foremost, I AM NOT a priest player at all. What I am advocating for Spriest to have the option for a regular ranged kick. Literally make it a choice node with Silence. You could call it “Shadow Word: Hush”. In all seriousness I play with my GM all the time. Both him and his lady are priest players. One heals the other plays Shadow. Going into M+ being without interrupts almost feels like I am punishing myself for wanting to play with my friends/guildies. Please just give Shadow a regular ranged kick, not just for them but my sanity as well.

Here’s the issue with making it a choice node is the shadow tree is fundamentally flawed in that it requires a talent point to interrupt something and results in a major dmg loss.

The real solution? Baseline kick that’s just learned as part of the tree. Keep silence as is if priest wants to take it. No kick in the game at all should require a talent.

Edit: In case it wasn’t obvious, I’m the spriest GM in question.

I mean many of them do. Evokers have to talent for Quell, Druid for Skull Bash, Death Knights for Mind Freeze, Hunters for Counter Shot, Monks for Spear Hand Strike, Paladin’s Rebuke, and Shaman Wind Shield.

If you are keeping score that means only Demon Hunter, Warrior, Rogue, Affliction Lock, and Mage get an interrupt baseline.

More classes/specs have to talent into their interrupt that don’t. The biggest difference is all of those classes that do have to talent into it, do so through her class tree instead of their spec tree. It has been asked for time and time again that Silence be added into the class tree as an interrupt with Shadow being given a passive to make it the blanket silence it is, but Blizzard simply refuses to give priests anything that even remotely resembles an interrupt.

No warlock has to talent into one. Fel puppy has one which is learned by all Locks and Demo’s Felguard has Axe Toss which is a Interrupt and Stun which is why it’s 30 sec.

Give DarkStar / Halo an interrupt and We’re good.

Yeah that’s a derp on me since my lock has only ever been affliction and I don’t acknowledge the other two specs

It do be like that some times

Low key, I kind of like not having a kick. Lol. It makes things easier for me not ever being on interrupt duty.

But practically speaking, Priests need an interrupt. It’s a fundamental utility tool that every class and spec has besides the priest healers, and the lack of interrupts is noticeable especially in higher tier dungeon content. I get that Class Identity is important, but being identified as the healer with no way to interrupt is kinda sad.

I thought the same when maining hpriest.
Once I moved to Rdruid and having the ability to kick is amazing. Ppl still don’t expect healer to focus on kicks, but having the possibility to do it yourself is game changer (no joke)
Saved many wipes by interrupting the right add

I stand by my statement though. None of them should have to talent for a kick either. All dps specs should have a baseline interrupt, standard which follows the rules of either ranged or melee. All ranged should have the standard 24 second cooldown (other than shaman because windshear has been 12 second cooldown for years) and all melee should have standard 14 second cooldown.

Having to waste a talent point on any dps spec for the sake of having an interrupt in a game where kick rotation is so important is dumb.

Right… And NONE of them should be talents

That’s a fair opinion to have, I was more pointing out that Blizzard’s design philosophy, as much as I hate it for completely different reasons, seems to view baseline interrupts as more of the exception than the rule.

Shadow priest has to use 2 talents to have a 30s cooldown interrupt that happens to silence… which is a worthless effect in PVE.

If it was 1 talent for 30s cd and a hard stun that would be so chill.

The argument people always use to dismiss our request for an interrupt is that having healers with silence would be OP in pvp, as if we can’t work around it.

-Give all priest a 30sec interupt in the class tree and have a pvp talent that turns it into a silence for Shadow.
-Merge “Driven by Madness” and “Void Volley” into one pvp talent to make room to choose silence.

Since pve doesn’t get much benefit from a blanket silence and interrupts are an essential tool in pve, this fixes everything.

The issue is there is no intrupt for 2 of the Preist class, that being Disc and Holy. A smart play would be to move Silence from the Shadow tree and into the Priest Tree. The other issue is the CD time. 45 seconds is too much when it comes to a game where things have to be interrupted so often. At the very least it should be 30 seconds and bring it more inline with other classes.
