Hey all, I’ve been away from PvP for a year or so and I’ve always played a resto Druid in PvP. I’m thinking of getting back into it and I’ve been playing a lot of Priest in PvE.
I’m curious at the viability of Disc and Shadow Priest in BGs. I’m not looking for an OP class or spec, just one that is middle of the pack or better. Any priest experiences are appreciated as well as the people who don’t play priest and have comments about playing against one.

I don’t play a priest, I’ve never played a priest, but as someone who’s fought against a multitude of priests, they’re doing just fine. They’re very, VERY viable.
Priests as healers, both disc and holy, are very strong in BGs right now. Especially if you play oracle.
Shadow I would say is middle of the pack, they can be quite good but don’t have quite the same burst as most meta classes right now. The good news about that though is you’re generally not priority target so it’s a lot easier to cast without getting focussed hard.

If a pve Andrea like me can hit rival with holy priest in BGB, you can too!!! They have a really strong toolkit. I can’t comment on disc, but from holy pov they have very strong instant cast spot heals, along with decent pvp talent CDs to keep yourself alive and these can be use offensively or defensively.
The two downsides is they aren’t super mobile (esp if fade is off CD and you’re getting slowed) and they also seem vulnerable to DKs trying to grip you… at that point you may rely on a peel from teammate.
Grip is super useful on flag maps, also, on WSG you can cast float on yourself and jump off the tunnel… this actually will get you almost half way across the map if you do it correctly.
They are good as long as you don’t mind being what is called a “tank” caster as you will be attacked like a deer being mauled by lions pretty much non stop since your mobility is limited versus your durability.
Yeah priests are definitely the tank of healers, probably moreso than any other healer but at the cost of mobility and utility.
I don’t mind it though, I can face tank the enemies pretty easily a lot of the time.
