having a blast playing priest solo, but for healing, what is a good level for deadmines? I figure 20 is ok, but would people take a level 24 healer for HC or is that too high? I kind of wanted the rank of fort and pws that you get at 24 before committing to a unknown pug. I figure with that in my kit, I could heal most any combo.
24 is too high, live a little and just go at 20 
the dungeon finder should give a level range if you go above you get less exp.
I’ve healed a 18 tank on classic era at 16. You’re more than high enough.

If you have a solid group who pulls very carefully and you have tons of water…
Level 16 would be fine.
The worse the group the higher level you will need to be in order to carry them
Doesn’t matter now. My priest just died to a wow client disconnect (not even my internet). I had just pulled an alligator in wetlands and bam “you have been disconnected from server”. This really makes me lose interest in the game since it was beyond my control.
As a healer, you can always heal a group at two levels lower than the highest person. The important part in HC is to get a good tank and DPS who can handle threat and CC. Higher levels on them means if they screw up, they can handle an extra pull or two.
