I managed to do layer 5 w/ a group, went okay.
Has anyone here cleared a 5+ as a priest solo? I’ve thrown over 100 attempts, constant changing of powers etc. No luck so far. Tried as holy/disc/shadow and my usual cheese just arent working. I am 237 iLvl at this time, ive used consumes. Just too many elites come out w/ fears and CCs and massive damage.

I just made a topic about this. Here’s how I did it as Holy…
You want to keep rerolling powers at the start until you get Inversion, Horrific Dictionary, and Phantasm. Ideally you want 2 ranks of Inversion or Horrific Dictionary. After that you just spam heals on yourself.
The first 1-2 floors are going to be rough. There’s way more mobs on those floors than the others for w/e reason. Once you get 3 ranks of Inversion + hopefully Phantasm it’s pretty easy after that.
Get as many +45% hp boosts as you can. By the end you’ll basically be doing this:

In terms of shadow. Idk if pve gear helps but yea. Rerolling powers. Idk if it’d easier as healer but as shadow atl3ast I’ve nearly done 7 a few times now and then gonna finish 8. Don’t sleep on that mist power. It actually is so good
One-shot soloed floors 1-3 with no deaths as a 254 Hpriest. Floor 4 took me about 3x re-rolling the first layer for good powers. Said powers are what Caithyra mentioned above. Inversion is your number 1 anima power to stack. Personally, I just stacked Inversion > Max HP > PI duration in that order.
Run FC leggo and keep your stacks up. Catherstick (idk whats the name) is also incredibly strong. It’s the one that stores damage taken recently to amp your next initial hit of SW:P. With 200k++ max hp from the powers, you can see where intentionally taking big hits and then unleashing a phatt SW:P + healing and DPS from the inversion all come into play here eventually.
Another tip for the higher layers is to manage the adds. Kill one at a time (killing the biggest one here is not always the answer) because as soon as the main add gets to about 20% hp, it starts to spawn next waves. Smaller adds can quickly overwhelm you so prioritise properly.
TL;DR re-roll for good first 3 powers on layer 1. GLHF! Got my mount within 1h of stepping foot into the gauntlet for the first time ever.
Also potentially worthwhile is equipping a PvP trinket. I was hard-stuck on Layer 6 due to constantly dying to Fear or Stun combinations from the later bosses on the first floor and even the run I managed last night took 4 deaths. That run I did end up with 2 stacks of Horrific Dictionary and Inversion Prism to start out with and picked up Phantasm eventually.
