Can you make really good holy cloth gear with tailoring?
Tailoring is going to be a mainstay for most clothies because making early gear and filling gaps is nice. Especially if you don’t find the things.you need.
I’m contemplating tailoring enchanting myself, or maybe herb alch… Idk which though.
Tailoring for short term alch long term… But for alch I need herbalism and for tailoring I can pick up enchanting and effectively have at least one long term useful profession that might make me good money lol
Truefaith Vestments come to mind.
Absolutely, Truefaith Vestments comes to mind (recipe from last boss in live strath), all of the Mooncloth blue gear is decent for preraid spirit gear as well. Obtaining all the Moonthcloth might be a slight challenge though with the CD. (Oh might mention I don’t think many of the Mooncloth gear repices will be obtainable at release)
You’ll be able to make stuff while leveling, but at max level the main thing you’d be interested in at first is Truefaith Vestments.
It’s BoP so you have to be a tailor to get it, and it’s a bit better than the alternative which is Robes of the Exalted that pretty much every healer uses pre-raid if they aren’t a Priest tailor.
Once ZG drops, the Bloodvine cloth is really good DPS caster cloth. Not useful for holy, but good for selling.
Truefaith vestments are the main reason many priests have tailoring as a profession, as these bop crafted robe are arguably on par (if not slightly ahead) of the t2 robes that drop from nefarian.
The first true upgrade over these robes are the robes of the guardian saint in aq40, and considering every healer wants these robes, it might be awhile before you get your hands on them.
I thought that the robes from MC were better for most itemization than TF. Been so long since I thought about priests that I don’t recall… What was the stat difference and why was TF preferred?
There is fun stuff you can make. Couple of blue leveling recipes too from vendor around lvl 30ish I think. (requires elemental water of some sort) But most gear you make will be green stuff, nothing to write home about.
Good recipes are all in dungeons, or behind raids or rep grinds. Once ZG comes out, Truefaith is BIS for pre raids.
Do it if you find it fun, I did it once before, enjoyed it. Definitely take enchanting with it, because you make a lot of throw away greens, that you can at least DE for mats.
Truefaith gave a lot more raw +healing compared to Prophecy robes. Mana regen was about about the same on both but Truefaith has mp/5 wheras Prophecy has spirit. You do lose out on quite a bit of int and a little bit of stam as a tradeoff for that more raw +healing though.
