Seriously, $40 for a faction change, $34 for a transfer, it makes NO sense at all why it costs this much to transfer/faction change, it should be no more than $15, Blizzard need to stop being so greedy, reduce these prices by at least 50% and youll probably make more money anyway becuase people will actually pay for the services, what a joke

It’s a balancing act between them not wanting people to do these things too often because it affects the game, therefore keeping them fairly pricey, and wanting people to do it so they make money, therefore keeping them just affordable enough that sometimes people will relent.
The price is only ridiculous if that’s your only option, which it’s not.
You can farm gold and buy tokens or reroll.

Make it too easy and you get wild population swings whenever servers get popular.
I don’t know how well this pricing works to keep things balanced, or how much worse things would get if they dropped the price a little, but it’s interesting to consider.
I remember when I just started playing this game, it recommended a central server over an eastern one, although I didn’t realize it at the time. I’ve had the opportunity, of course, to start again on an eastern server when I realized what happened but have never bothered. Still, they should probably give a couple of my earliest toons free transfers to an eastern server and a little extra for spending (for pizza and gold necklaces etc).
really no point in complaining about it now. i mean cross faction is coming and even if your on a dead server not like you can’t group up with whoever you want nowadays.
To be fair. Grouping up might be easy if you’re on a dead server using cross faction. But things like the AH are terrible.

When I came back I was on a dead server. Transferring my characters would have cost a ton. So I rerolled.
Well, I don’t have the same drive to play the character I rolled. It had no sunk cost for me. There was nothing holding me to playing any more. So I quit back at the second month of SL.
If players on servers they don’t enjoy could transfer, they might have more players still, and the game would be healthier with those players.
I sure did save a lot of money though.
Yeah, right the servers aren’t even close to balanced.

Just made a new toon to max in 22h /played -shrug- Questing with WM on. Only got ganked once.
Leveling these days is quick.
There was a sale a couple months ago, but I don’t think it lasted that long. I doubt they’ll have another one any time soon.
it makes sense as a deterrent. dont doing it unless you really think its worth it.

Yep. Classic when things started going south for some servers even at higher cost…entire guilds moved. And then the server was really done lol.
Now who truly want off the server will pay. This keeps the I move this month for 10 this month, another 10 in 2months….from doing this.
If your new home is better the costs are worth it. I was on 2 oce servers long ago. NOw it’s mg and wra. Not cheap to do this but in time a move I can say was worth it.
