PreVoker need help

Hey there,

I consider myself a seasoned healer, I’ve played every single healer to KSM/KSH in every expansion but this time around I’m really struggling to play Preservation, a lot of bosses either require the group to be spread or the high movement makes it impossible to aim my spells properly, so I’m looking for advice.

For instance in Rookery, how do heal the last boss? Everyone is sitting in a different corner at 40+yrds away, if I move too much around I’ll get hit by the tank frontal and die, but if I don’t then people will die.

Bosses like this are especially punishing in PUGs, which is the vast majority of players, where people will just stand in “their place” to do the pillar mechanic which is something I would normally deal with very easily if I was playing a different healer.

Tanks don’t need healing pretty much. They also tank at the edge where no one should be really.

You dispel (not yourself pref) and then you only have one target to heal and if it’s yourself, that’s even easier.

Pillar responsibility can be offloaded on to other players. It’s not ideal if you do pillar and other people get dotted during that.

Spatial paradox can help with range during that overlap.

It’s not a fun boss to heal, but it’s not “difficult.”

There are several long range spells to heal far away targets: Rewind is 40 yards, Emerald Communion is even more pretty sure. There’s also aiming temporal anomaly.

Plus Echo is probably unlimited.

Thanks for the response.

They do, the tank buster hits like a truck (especially if they don’t press/have a defensive).

Yes but the problem is people in PUGs won’t do that, I’ve had many tanks just stand in the middle area and then I can’t do anything.

Ideally yes, and ideally they also press a defensive but realistically that won’t be the case most of the time.

It is difficult for me, not HPS wise but more about the placement issues that’s why I’m asking for help.

Emerald Communion has been saving my butt the entire time, but Rewind is kinda weird… Unless there is a massive AoE and everyone goes from 100% to 20% (like Priory 2nd boss) it feels like it does nothing… When would you use it during that specific boss?

I can’t remember exactly but I think TA gets stuck on the small platforms at the corners so I’d have to go all the way to the side to cast it

I tried running side to side placing Echoes but then use Echo into what? Living Flame or Reversion? Dream Breath is also kinda useless in that fight…

The person who needs healing, is the one with the dot you didn’t dispel. The others? You have like 20? 30? seconds to top them up.

As for if tank needs healing, well, tank skill is a thing, and tank damage taken variance is like 500%.

Use emerald communion for someone out of range, and is about to die.

Use VE for echoes (other spells if VE not available.)

This is a problem on every healer. DPS should not be that far away, you literally only need to move for pillars/ dispel… Anyone playing in narnia on that boss is trolling this late in the season.

I have 0 problem healing this on my Priest tho… You can reach both sides from the center with a 40 yrd range class.

I ran it again, this time was a +10 and it was a nightmare.

You’ll just have to track the tank buster and wait for the white walking stick figure to light up on the traffic light.

Hop around both sides by jump gliding for 30% movement and abuse hover.

Don’t be afraid to rescue for the absorb shield and to position dps for the dispell.

If you leave an echo on someone, it activates from pretty far range. You can hop to someone, heal them up, and leave an echo for when you’re on the other side. You can consume the echo either with a Verdant embrace if they need quick heals, or with a dream breath if they don’t need it ASAP.

By abusing movement speed, it’s generally doable.

Counter argument: people can be in Narnia because nothing kills people really.

Typically my group does it Tank/Melee on the left, healer and Ranged Mid with the less needy of the Ranged on the Right.

Rely on Echo/TA and VE yourself to link everyone. Then cycle through combos and CDs.

That sounds like a good plan but again that is within a coordinated group which is not my case. The fight gets really complicated when time goes by and the not-so-smart DPS don’t move away to drop the pools because it reduces the amount of available space I have to weave around and cast healing spells.
