Tru that junk is worthless.
Combined with the seasons teir set, since 1.5 will still be season 2, the mastery changes and frenzied rejuv talent; lunar beam is still bad but it shows a clear direction blizzard wants bear to move too; big hp and big bonus healing.
Also as cool as orbit breaker is what would it really do for bear; like i get its a cool graphic but does bear really need random uncontrolable aoe and minor healing?
Rage gen for arcane bear maybe, even then it still random and inconsistencies is bad when tanking.
I just don’t think that it is practical at all with the HP % increase. I can’t think of a scenario where +15% health would save us from a Trash/Boss mechanic when we stood absolutely still. Pressing the W Key is better than +15% extra health 99.9% of the time. I am sure there is one odd niche somewhere, maybe RBGs. +15% Damage reduction but immobile? 100 x’s better but still no one would use Lunar Beam.
Oh I agree 15% is still way too low but pallies and dks make the stationary thing work fine and its not like bear is constantly switching forms to make use of the mobility like the other 3 specs do or has amazing movement tanking like DH.
I think upping it too 30 or 40% health so its defensivly on par warriors last stand and then keeping the healing and damage on top to justify its semi stationary affect would be a decent place for it. Pop it before a big hit then let it trickle heal and damage after until you want to move or it ends.
The fact that they made the change but didnt announce it tells me theyre still iterating on it heavily.
99% of tank busters are unavoidable. So standing or moving still is irrelevant. And 15% health is about a 13% damage reduction in terms of overall damage taken.
Now couple that with the 15% health from tier set. An extra 300k health goes a long ways to mitigating a lot of damage.
On a 500k damage hit, that’s a 60% damage reduction as opposed to our base health.
It’s got it’s used, but I still don’t think it’ll compete.
Make it a 30% health increase and allow us to move (aka last stand) and it becomes a consideration but it still too weak for a capstone ability.
They could take it a step further and mirror shadowlands/BFA last stand that made warriors immune to physical damage but instead of physical damage change it to magical damage and I would stand still for a 1 min CD.
Edit - Bear AMZ
Just having it auto cast moonfire on everything it touches would make it worth it in aoe for most arcane bears and has been requested since it was reintroduced.
Instant 10% dr, and 30-40% health bump with it constantly reapplying moonfire for 10 seconds with the trickle heal and damage would feel decently capstone like. At the very least it would make sense for that side of the tree and actually have some synergy besides being purple colored.
Now you are making my pants tight.
With a 3 min CD perhaps. Every minute would make it OP. Or limited to 5 targets. The damage and healing from it would be insane otherwise
If they changed Lunar Beam to Solar Beam I would take it, but in its current state its worthless. We already have heals in the form of Renewal, Frenzied Regeneration, Nature’s Vigil, After the Wildfire, and with these new changes, Dream of Cenarius. What we really need is more ways to stop or nullify magic hits.
So… incarn?
We already have a “last stand” button.
This is a game. The point it to have fun. And dropping moons on your foes is fun.
Also…. It’s not random. “Every 30 ticks”. It says so right in the tool tip. On single target that’s a consistent occurrence that you could very well set your watch to.
On aoe that number is lowered exponentially for every mob you pull.
The GG move opens up a point in the last teir. Pulverize is now an option for moon and fur builds.
I’ve played with the changes on PTR. Its an improvement definitely, but a rework? No. I do like it , but I wouldn’t call it a rework.
like why is Pulverize now the gate keeper for Ursoc’s Fury? Now I use Pulverize, but Flashing Claws still being 2 points, and being in an awkward spot makes no sense.
Class tree still needs work, or at least having some ability to use the 4-5 abilites we have to take to get the good items, that are still useless as a bear.
Oooo! nice! the calendar is up.
My thoughts for a UFR build…
Pros…
You’re no longer required to path through elune’s favoured and thorns of iron to reach RoTS. Now you can skip them entirely and take scintillating for that sweet 10% DR that GG gives passively.
You can drop brambles and just pick up DoC instead!
Cons…
Its harder to pick up RoTS with incarn.
Incarn is gated behind useless talents for a UFR build.
The only way I was able pair them together was by dropping flashing claws entirely. (feels bad)
UF is gated behind Pulverize. Horrible change. That spell needs to be a choice, not mandatory. (or just baseline)
Blood Frensy is gated behind CoLD. Absolutely horrible change. My guess is this is just a first draft because that CANNOT go live. The “extra” rage regen we gained from getting GG is now mandatory since its impossible to get BF and RotS without dropping Flashing claws and using ColD for a direct damage build?!? /spit
Suggested changes…
Earthwarden and SotF trade places.
Make infected wounds baseline.
Link Sunfire to Remove corruption. Enough is enough! Give us our dispel back without forcing us down the resto tree for spells we cant use.
Keep scintillating and Flashing claws where they are and just add paths from them to the 10th row.
Add better pathing for incarn/RoTS
Or…
OR.…
Simply listen to the ENTIRE DRUID COMMUNITY and stop breaking up berserk into 5 GOD DAMN TALENTS!!!
Where do I find this?
It’s on wowhead. At the top you can cycle between live and ptr.
DoC up there is SO good. I love to play with the free regrowth and Protector of the Pack, the healing is quite insane, especially because you can off heal others with it.
I would love to see Lunar Beam getting more adjustments to be competitive. I know it’s not a good choice for any kind of build, but it feels good to use, especially with the range increase on the class tree.
Raze change is welcomed, it means no more shifting a single talent depeding on aoe or st, but the best case scenario would be a Raze that replaces Maul but still keeps the st damage and adds the splash damage. Basically the talent improves Maul with AoE without nerfing its st.
All and all, welcome changes! I’m still concerned about the state of the Class tree and the 12 useless talents for Guardian. The big problem there is just that there’s almost zero situations in which would be good to get out of bear to use those.
An idea, instead of reworking all of those talents, could be reworking Ursine Vigor, to have a good portion of the bear form defensives carried out to other shapeshifts for those seconds rather than a buff when you get back into bear.
oh no… Looks Like flashing Claws isnt connected to Ursocs anymore… so now im Obligated to take Pulverize ![]()
Unless Pulverize also give The Shielding Buff then it wouldnt be bad thats a nice meaty little hit there
Not a fan of this idea. I like the idea of Pulv, but not as it being the only path to UF.
I doubt they give us the two for one deal. But the damage reduction from Pulverize more than makes up for the difference.
With Pulverize eating 2 stacks of Thrash, I’m going to miss Flashing Claws. While it’s entirely RNG and cannot be counted on, I did have a Shadowlands moment in my last Uldaman run where Thrash went off 5-6 times in a row. Just one of those good feelings ya know?
I actually Had that happen for me but was 6 thrashes i was shocked, that’s the only downside is that i don’t like that it eats two stacks of thrash,
Wondering if there was a stealth buff to it in 10.1. I’ve been seeing it proc more often this week than the majority of season 1.
It eating 2 stacks isn’t a huge deal since it’s single target (they really need to make it a personal buff instead of target specific), unless you need it in the first 5 seconds of the fight (which may happen if you pull adds onto the boss)
