Sylvanas is fundamentally evil. The rest of the Horde is either also evil and/or ignorant or cowardly.
BFA destroyed the heroic Horde identity that emerged out of WC3. It is astounding how any developer could have thought this narrative was a good idea.
Have we been playing the same game? I’d suggest going and leveling through old content to see how the narrative changed over the years. Old school horde was brutal. Even up to Lich King, there are quests you use torture to interrogate people. In vanilla, Desolace had a quest where I burned a village and killed merchants. Horde and Alliance having this quasi peace was never the status quo, and quite frankly makes for a boring game.
What does Sylvanus have to do with the Horde? She deposed herself as our Warchief. To hold the Horde as evil just because Sylvanus went off the deep end is not fair. The Horde has never been evil, is just as Light filled as the Alliance, and Honor abounds in both. I also might add, for my personal angst, that the Horde has been ***** of just about all of our significant npc’s since Thrall was first deleted. Now the unique character in the game (the only one like her) has been turned into a common, garden-variety, demon. I know it’s a ridiculous notion, but sometimes it feels like Blizzard has it out for the Horde (I never see them play Horde either; always in Elwynn Forest). The Horde is up in the air now just like HP and Nagrand. The Alliance is coming together in a way that I’ve been wanting to see happen for years (don’t get me started on Varian Wrynn). Following the Horde leadership decision and the abduction cinematic, the overall reality is that neither faction has a leader - no Warchief and no King. What do we do now? I suspect that Baine will be first with Thrall as his second and that Genn will rise in the story (along with Jaina) somehow. First we have to get Anduin back. Without our leader npcs, who’s gonna lead the way. SL looks so way different that it wouldn’t surprise me to find brand new leaders introduced. I reject the notion of new leaders, but I also know that Blizzard will make the possible new ones doable. I have a LOT of confidence in the Alliance king and Thrall. I also have confidence in Genn, but Baine? He hasn’t been fully developed yet. Omg this is too long (and I could go on - lol). Thx for reading.

Ik. I thought it was long too.
I’ve been in the Horde for 11yrs. We have never had a heroic identity, and comparing WoW to another game as if they’re supposed to be consistent, isn’t fair for the argument. WoW is being developed; not WC3. It died.
it’s not genocide if you deserved it, filthy elves
i don’t mind being the bad guy. it’s pretty cool actually
The Horde never approved of Sylvanus committing genocide of the forsaken at Loerderon. If the Horde is evil, then why not just call it Legion. Neither faction is evil and they never have been in WoW. The corrupted (not their choice) Orcs went through the Dark Portal with Thrall and sought to expand territory. The Alliance (naturally) didn’t like that. War was the result. This pattern is familiar on Earth. The Orcs of Azeroth are not corrupted anymore, so the Horde cannot be evil, and neither is the Alliance with a king like Anduin. Under Varian’s rule (if you can call it that), the Alliance was lack-luster and not really seen as a foe worthy of great battle (big talk and skirmishes was all we had). When Anduin mass rezed his troops, the honor of the Alliance became established in Horde view; then the Horde was up for the battle. All of this is my interpretation of historical lore and cinematic. Final conclusion is that both are good. Both are honorable - IN WOW. Prior to WoW, I don’t care.
