Just jumping in to say in both pre-patch and now in DF I’ve played my Evoker a lot and have never experience this. I have the press and tap option toggled for empowered spells, very little add-ons, and I don’t have continuous cast on.
I’ve seen other forums saying it could be an issue with add-ons, macros, or continuous cast turned on.
That’s what I have turned on. Still buggy for me
same bug as above, eternity surge either cancels itself despite doing absolutely nothing since just pressing cast once, or charges too far and needs to be pressed again. setting is set to hold and release.
This pisses me off to oblivion and back

Have you tried letting go of the button?
obviously the button is let go if its cancelling the cast and not firing, or firing off early.
I love how this bug is still here. 5 months and literally 2 ‘fixes’ that didn’t fix anything wOOOOOO
I can confirm. It seems like fire breath is worse than eternity surge. It goes off, at least 60% of the time on the first level even though I keep the button pressed.

Still in the game after multiple patches. When can we get a fix for this?
This happens to me as well. as far as I’ve noticed it seems there is a different setting for when in a dungeon and when in the world. I have yet to fix it, but I imagine it would be a relatively easy fix.
Same bugs still exist.
None of the bugs they claim to have fixed have actually been fixed.
This bug is becoming more iconic to WoW than the class it plagues.
Had the issue until I updated elvui and re toggled the press + release option.
I never had this problem before 10.1, now it happens randomly, I’ll try to repair the game to see if it solves it
Checking back in to say that it hasn’t resolved my issues. Idk.

The work around is doing a / reload and testing the empower cast.
It’s bugged on all 3 specs and has been since evoker existed.
