This was sold as a feature coming to Dragonflight. Here we are more then 6 months in and it still doesnt work as intended.
As per the tooltip: “If enabled, allows the player to press and hold a keyboard hotkey to continually cast a spell on an ActionBar without having to repeatedly press the button…”
Now, you can not use it with any macros. Thats fine. But more then 90% of the time when you press a key (AND HOLD IT DOWN) it never works. It was bugged on the beta and PTR prior to launch. Reason I am so vocal about this is that is a huge accessibility feature and when Blizzard will straight out ban accounts that use other software to serve this function, you would think they would get off their ______ and fix this…
Are there all that many classes that can use that? I mean, from what I can recall most abilities have cooldowns or other limitations. Which classes and spells would benefit from it?
Guardian Druid with Thorns of Iron would be my best guess considering the current optimal play is binding Iron Fur to mousewheel and spinning it during Incarn and still not being able to spend fast enough.
I would say some, but there are actually many abilities that have no CD and your limiting factor is the GCD and how fast you can smash the spell button over and over. You do this to the point where cramps start forming up in your hand.
I had to quit playing my BM Hunter for example for this very reason. IDK why Blizz cant just make it actually work and just repeat key press reliably… I mean every other company manages to do it…
