Preservation Evoker and the Underkeep Delve

Tried doing The Underkeep as a Preservation Evoker on Tier 9 (my iLevel is one point below the recommended level).

This Delve version is the short one, but the one that has waves of bad guys coming at you, and the final boss keeps shooting webs at you that, if you don’t have an interrupt, you have to LoS them or they will stun you at 10 stacks or kill you if you can’t heal fast enough.

So, this Delve murdered me. I couldn’t pump heals out fast enough to deal with all the damage the mobs were throwing on Tank Brann, so the bugger kept dying.

Question: Is Pres Evoker just not a good healer for this Delve, or am I just bad?

For comparison, I didn’t have much trouble on my Holy Priest in this Delve.

Well I don’t like Tank Brann that much, but you can try running an absorb shield on him, with Rescue.

Switch to Enkindle/Energy Loop/ Natural Convergence / Empath / Just in Time talents. Time Dilation on Brann and mass Disintegrate the boss.

Just did another Delve. This one was underwater (can’t recall the name).

Preservation couldn’t keep up the heals when Brann got mobbed, but Holy Priest had no trouble even when Brann had more mobs on him than when I ran it with Preservation.

I been trying to play preservation and I encountered the same problem…
However I am not am good healer (as I mainly DPS) so it could be a skill issue. I think I try like 2 times and switch back… Really wanted to play my Green Aspect powers but could not get the hang of it.

I really wish we could use Green Spells more outside the healing, maybe in the future we can get a Hero Spec that turns our heals and buff into nature dmg dots and debuff… in the last expansion I do remember the Green Dragons using their powers to attack too.

Edit: Ah nvm me... there I go again, imagining new stories to add more gameplay uses to Classes specs. I'll just hide this and spare you.

Ysera being in shadowlands could set up for an interesting future Hero Spec that could add a bit of the aspect of Death (thoght the Night Fey) into the Green spells… or Evokers having the ability to “Evoke” through a Hero spec previous Aspects unique powers… or just plain “Evoke” the powers of other Dragonflights beyond the norm, now that we have a new Aspect of the Storms representing the scattered DF families…

Anyway, I’ll try again after the weekly reset just to make sure if its a “me problem” with learning how to properly heal the NPC lol

I think this is where pres can feel weaker or less intuitive to play, when it comes to needing massive single target throughput.

You kind of just need to get creative and rotate your echo combos and layer them on.

For example, assuming Chronowarden, Lifespark/Grace Period/Golden Hour talents:

  • Keep Echo double Reversion rolling on Brann (21% bonus healing from Grace Period)
  • Echo double Dream Breath (with extension hero talent)

This alone is very solid HPS on a target, and you should have both hots on yourself for later usage.

If needing even more throughput:

  • Echo Reversion if you see his health massively chunked all of a sudden to get valuable “Death Strike” healing
  • Echo Spiritbloom him
  • Echo Chronoflame
  • Rescue bubble
  • Time Dilation if he’s dropping too fast, works well with Golden Hour healing
  • Verdant Embrace lifebind and Emerald Communion for CD burst healing
  • Rewind, even better if you took dmg and you lifebind him and rewind
  • Stasis any of the above if using Stasis

(Advanced) Echo Verdant Embrace, burst heal plus lifebind, now the hots on you heal him, then do a level 2 Spirit Bloom on yourself or even stronger echo lvl 2 Spirit Bloom on yourself.

What this does:

  • x2 Verdant Embrace burst heal on brann
  • Lifebind to reflect 40% of self healing to brann for 5s, existing hots on you are reflecting to brann
  • lvl 2 Spiritbloom will heal both of you for a chunk, then Chronoflame will heal both of you for a chunk, then reflect 40% of that to brann.

Total healing to Brann:
(2 * Verdant Embrace) + (0.4 * HoTs on you) + (1.4 * Spiritbloom) + (1.4 * Chronoflame)

If you fit in an echo on yourself after Verdant Embrace and before the Spiritbloom, you will get an extra spiritbloom and Chronoflame on yourself (because Spiritbloom healing can fire up to 3 Chronoflames)

So then the total healing becomes:
(2 * Verdant Embrace) + (0.4 * HoTs on you) + (1.8 * Spiritbloom) + (1.8 * Chronoflame)

That’s at minimum sending 6 massive chunky heals at Brann, equivalent to roughly 6 Heal/Power Word Life’s at him in a couple globals.

If running Flameshaper (wouldn’t recommend it), you can renewing Blaze brann and combo that with time dilation if he’s exploding too fast, renewing Blaze heals for dmg before it was staggered so they combo super well. You can even Time Dilation/Renewing Blaze yourself and eat massive damage intentionally to get a massive HoT that you can reflect onto others with lifebind, my favorite cheeky tech.

Also lifebind healing (the reflected healing on an Ally) isn’t boosted by Grace Period, so you would need 2 Reversions on yourself for the lifebind part to get boosted.
