There is something very significant about the fact that this game mode is so poorly received by the playerbase that hardly anyone is talking about the fact that they put “pirate-themed” on a land locked map… The bnet window has a gloriously graphic news feature telling me to “Hoist the sails”… what sails matey? Like imagine even if this was kinda good or well received how awkward is it to play a nautical theme in some recycled map of farm houses and wheat fields?
Hard pass on the new mode Blizzard, but thanks for the crab.
You really need to look at that map again, Arathi Highlands is not land locked by any means…right behind Stormgarde keep is road that leads down to the water…and guess what a Pirate ship is there.
Praise the Storm …it gets my Plunder not you.
Okay maybe the map itself is not technically land locked in its borders … however once you are removed from the “lobby” which is nautical and pirate themed, the entire gameplay mode includes ZERO nautical engagement or water whatsoever. It’s tone deaf. Pirates plunder on the sea and its islands/port towns…they don’t jump on ridable parrots en masse to divebomb a cornfield and fight each other over loot… it just doesnt make sense.
Honestly, this is probably some sort of record for marketing trash. 50k to have a bunch of schmucks advertise something that’s not worthy of being in the same discussion as the toilet paper attached to my foot after taking a dump is impressive. Great job Blizzard.
LOL i got a suspension from the forums for calling someone a villain cause they deemed it “real life threat”
Dang …all I can say now won’t say what to say now…
Praise the Storm …it gets my Plunder not you.
Without a chance of seeing Asmon get beat up by WoWgrandma, it’s a no from me.
and now you’re gonna get another for bringing it up :')
after we’ve gotten our renown, we can watch others get their renown!
How about…no.
Not really interested in this mini out of WoW PvP side game. Much less watching it stream.
I just want the bugs fixed since this Plunderstorm patch.
I’m looking forward to it. This is a great opportunity for BR pros outside of the Warcraft world to show off the game and help make it better. I predict this game will easily transition over to Xbox and it’s Game pass and give the Xbox world a taste of the Warcraft universe.
I also look forward to new maps, new loot, and new abilities.
I think he would love that far more than he would care to admit.
So Blizz, how are you going to bribe the players this time, a title, a mount, a pet, some sort of cosmetic item?
Finally an event no one wants and no one asked for. Why are we pushing for players to go play a different game that other gaming companies do a better job at? I thought “time played” was a huge metric for Blizzard, won’t pushing them to play a different game impact your wow metrics? Color me baffled.
I was wondering why some of those folks, who I would have expected to at least be somewhat critical, if not outright derisive given the community backlash, weren’t at the start of the week.
Then lo and behold, I see the list of participants, and I was like:
But hats off to Blizz for the marketing move. In the big scheme of things, that’s a small amount of money for a lot of what at least initially seemed like organic/natural positive feedback. Well played, Blizz, GG.

It’d be nice if you opened this kind of thing up to your actual players.
Spent a bit too much time earlier today clearing out my YouTube and Twitch subs: WoWGrandma, Hazel and Soul were the only survivors! But if I run across vids/streams by any of the others they’ll get an immediate dislike/thumbsdown. That, along with spending March 30th at the dog groomer watching my angry chihuahua get de-gland, is my form of protest
