So trying to get 1800 on every class this season, decided on pres out of the 3 evoker specs
and i’m struggling pretty hard, even sub rogue wasn’t this hard for me, I kinda just don’t know when to use the CC shroud or what heals for alot in oh **** moments besides emerald communion. In comparison i got mw monk done in like, 8 lobbies lol
I easily reached 1800 with my Disc Priest and Holy Paladin. But with my Evoker, I struggled a lot to get 1800. I found it awful. The weird thing is that Preservation Evoker is meta in PvP, but for me, it was by far the worst healer spec.
- Use Shroud immediately unless against a rogue (they can sap it off), and re-cast it when you aren’t DR’d.
- Protect Shroud from dispels/steals by echoing Reversion on yourself.
- When Shroud is about gone, get Stasis rolling. You can /cancelaura Stasis while in a CC to pop it, giving you another save while CC’d.
- Emerald Communion will prioritize healing yourself if you’ve lost any HP. This makes it a situationally unreliable external save. Ideally you want to get Lifebind on your teammates first to duplicate its healing on everyone and make it a team full heal (Echo one person, Verdant Embrace the other, all three of you now have Lifebind).
- Contribute on offense where possible. Use free procs to Disintegrate kill target. Deep Breath → TtS Fire Breath is big burst. (Fire Breath dispel is also huge.)
- You want to keep double Reversion and Dream Breath rolling on whoever’s targeted. Ideally use Echo before any big heal to duplicate it. You have two 1min external CDs, make liberal use of them.
- Oppressing Roar → Sleep Walk can be an 8 second CC on the enemy healer.
- If you Echo someone you can cast a heal on yourself out of LoS and still heal them.
Just random general tips off the top of my head.
dream breath doesn’t protect shroud because dream breath isn’t purgeable
my biggest tip is to learn your pve healing rotation. you want to echo dream breaths/spiritblooms in general. spiritbloom can be an AOE LoH if done right with temporal compression stacks, double dream breath is ideal if you get it up on multiple people. make good use of your stasis, you can store a dream breath/echo/spirit bloom and have dream breath uptime almost perma for the first minute + of any round. make use of golden hour (pressing reversion) on high damage moments. echo reversion is a life saver in certain scenarios. don’t be afraid to be aggressive, tip the scales flame breath on goes setup by your dps player, using living flame procs aggressive(they can be used for healing as well, a good verdant into a proc living flame can heal for 3 mil +) super fun healer in general
I recommend watching Absterge’s video on Pres:

There may be a “better” one out there, because I didn’t do a ton of research but this should definitely help. It helped me out almost immediately.
For this, you basically want to make use of Echo to replicate your healing across others. So if a lot of people are taking damage or say for example you are taking damage as well as someone else on your team you can Echo them and then Verdant Embrace yourself or use a proc of instant Living Flame if you have one. Similarly, if 1 person is taking a lot of damage and is behind you can use Echo and a Living Flame and 2 heals. Also using echo and then reversion on a target after they’ve taken a lot of damage the last few seconds can also be a good instant heal.
Rewind is a huge CD and same idea if people have taken a lot of damage recently and you use that, it’s going to recover a lot of health bars.
Another quick big burst of healing you can do is get Echo out on a target or targets and Tip the Scales Dream Breath/Spiritbloom. You can do this in general so your partners are getting the Double Reversion/Double Dream Breath heal + HoT even outside of Tip the Scales usage but that can be for when you’re really far behind.
I really want to echo (hehe) this.
In general open with shroud UNLESS they can sap it off. If theyvhave stealthies, use it right at the start of combat.
Outside of that, focus on the pve healing rotation and try to rotate time dilate, rescue, and stasis.
Outside of that you have trinket + rewind for BIG team damage and communion for another save. Use damage as much as you can in between because the damage does a great job securing kills and/or putting the enemy healer on the back foot.
dream breath isn’t dispellable and doesn’t act as debuff trash btw
I’m on mobile, but Meep recently put up a video dissecting his r1 Pres shuffle game. It’s like 45 minutes long and goes everything, including his stasis rotation + reasoning.
It’s really good, if you can link might be helpful too?
I will check it out for myself, as well!
Is it this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2QxPc68yTSE
something people don’t mention is that evoker has 6 physical abilities that can be used while silenced or interrupted: hover, quell, rescue, tail swipe, wing buffet, and swoop up(if you’re talented into that). these also ignore cloak of shadows and anti magic shell
in fact, the rescue absorb shield will proc even if you’re root-beamed which is funny
you can use living flame as interrupt bait. start casting it then mash spiritbloom, then when they interrupt you, you will do a fast rank 1 cast and heal. if they don’t interrupt then you can free cast living flames that heal for 1 million each with mastery stacking
if you are being tunneled, then renewing blaze + time dilation makes you immortal every minute. the healing can even cleave to your allies via lifebind.
I tried pres got to 2k but its a tough healer to play there are some that can play it amazing though. i just dont like the range, have to be close to everything to heal while other healers can stand back. I also find it falls off hard in dampening and you just auto lose to hpals and other healers.
Appreciate the tips guys, already doing better in my lobbies, got my MMR back up to 1800 again just gotta keep playing!
to be fair, what doesnt auto lose to hpals right now? I’m guessing disc is the closest alternative, but what is actually good against hpals?
real question. “another hpal” isn’t an option
