Why r they so silent about announcing when the prepatch will be released?
I think they are scared of the WoW community.

Because they want to drop it and get everyone really excited about it. Hard to do that if we all knew for weeks and months…

This is why movies famously never announce release dates. One day it’s just in theaters.
They are hard at work. That’s the truth. I mean, they are making incredibly big passes and sweeps in beta at this late stage. Love or hate 'em let’s recognize they got their plate full right.
I mean that’s kind of their job right? You want me to recognize that they are doing their job? Apparently at a sub-par level considering they abandoned BFA for months and still don’t have SL together because they decided to double down on unnecessary systems they couldn’t possibly balance?
I’m confused.
Their communication with the players is abysmal, that’s why.
I mean, I get where you are coming from. I really do. But do you understand that there is a difference between the people that make decisions and the people grinding the code right now? Everyone has a boss. There’s only so much you can do in a company.
THIS is the real problem, honestly.
There was almost no advance notice for the BfA prepatch. Really there’s nothing at all requiring Blizz to announce a date.
For myself, I think a date might be nice but the lack of one doesn’t bother me. In all likelyhood it’s some time within the coming 2-3 weeks which a good enough estimation for me. There’s plenty of other things to do in the meantime.
Except for the higher level management aren’t on the floor crunching and coding. It doesn’t take an assembled team of folks to construct a forum post that says “We’re thinking about this day.”
This is true if you didn’t play the expansion maybe, the rest of us are bored and beyond ready for the pre-patch. I want my belf tiara bun and nelf leaves!
They’re taking as much time as they can to squash bugs.
Take as much time as you want, Blizzard.
I may disagree with the route we’re taking, but I expect the road to be smooth and lacking in bumps it potholes.
I wish I shared your optimism you wonderful moose.
I was talking about outside of modern WoW. I’ve been goofing around with a friend on a low level character in Classic and been trying to get into a new hobby.
I’m excited for the new customization options too, though.
Exactly, a tweet would take max 1 minute to type out.
It doesn’t. But I am sure our Forum Blues don’t have the permissions to do so either. I worked for super corporate companies and something like a simple announcement can take months to filter through the bureaucracy of people that know less, but earn more and have giant egos.
Again, I have been immensely critical about their garbage communication, but you know… it’s not exactly everyone’s fault over there. When suits put the foot on the neck, it’s hard to breathe. Everyone on the outside only see’s the face, not the foot on the neck.
Yup, too silent. I no longer have any interest in it.
I’ve been keeping myself busy on my Nintendo games.
It seems like they’re behind schedule.
At this point, the game should be basically complete.
Unfortunately, it’s clear that things aren’t ready yet, and they’re still working on key features of Shadowlands.
Which is actually insane given how they abandoned BFA for months.
I’m going to give them a pass on communicating right now. They have their hands full.
The truth is that Beta is not ready. There are game-breaking issues that could stop entire servers from even reaching max level. They are probably trying to make sure that doesn’t happen before they drop pre-patch.
Despite what people think, there is a very real possibility that SL could be delayed a week or two. They don’t want thousands of people waiting for a robot to get reset manually before they can complete a quest that’s essential to the entire expansion.
