They didn’t though? even if you turn on WM the event is severely nerfed.
Obviously, changes not that the vocal side was in each occasion.

Let’s just stop arguing about this. The care bears ruin everything and majority of them don’t participate in anything the game has to offer. They do old content or solo things and enjoy their safe spaces. They have no desire to play an mmo, but refuse to quit because of their xmog and pet collections.
The funny part is that the discussion a couple months ago went like this:
The SAME posters from #2, btw. Not different people.
Was pretty hilarious.
I wouldn’t play with them, if I were you. I hear warmode is a good place for that.
The daily grind event for the same gear we’ve already
gotten from Battle for Azeroth. A new gear style
would have been preferable instead of a re-hash.
No thanks I’ll wait until we get into Shadowlands.
The best move they could have made years ago would have been to have tourist servers and hardcore servers.
If people don’t want a hardcore game they can get it. If people want a hardcore game they can get it.
Best of both worlds really.
I don’t mean instanced content either. I’m talking about world content.
Biggest problem is that even if they nerfed/removed the event they didn’t give us anything else in return.
The dailies in icecrown are 100% pointless and dumb. The rest is just chasing around rares for the off chance on some gear that’s the same models that already exists in game.
Then we can kill Nathanos to get yet another cinematic that makes Tyrande look dumb in an event that’s 100% pointless because even then he says he’ll return.
Blizz is laughing as you blame each other. There are a thousand things they could have added or they could have made a brand new event.
Tyrande acted like a Horde character, stupid, brutal, and didn’t get what she was after.
But isn’t that what Alliance players have been asking for? To get the same “favoritism” the Horde gets?
My issue is this.
Blizzard could not give players even for a short time span in a event. Something that my side of the fence wanted. Yet, these people get what they want for years and years, but for two weeks it is asking too much. Whats next? They going to remove /spit because that sure is how I feel about them right now.
The initial invasion was so unpopular they had to end it early, and Blizzard CSR’s were asking people as they canceled if it was because of the zombie event (this was back in the days of the Crying Peon).
People asked for an opt-out this time, the overwhelming response from the Griefer Community was NO. Therefore, we get what we get next week. You have nobody to blame but yourselves.
Yes, this is exactly my sentiment. There is supposed to be a literal invasion of Scourge which can infect players who then become turned themselves. I don’t like griefers, either, but this event wasn’t supposed to be about them and it’s been tailored specifically now that you have to be in Warmode to even experience it… not that there is anything to experience right now.
That is not true. The ended it early because of a small minority of people who was very loud about it. AKA rpers at the time.
They would not have added a question to the unsub process specifically about it if there was a “small minority of people”. See also: When they also added a question after the announcement that they were permanently removing flying from the game.
The loudest did not mean the most. You got to understand rpers really hated it at the time more so than most people and they could really be loud. They added all that sure, but giving in to them was part of the many downfalls of Wow. It was a temp event, and it also showed that being very loud will get your way, and the community became spoil kids.
It wasn’t just role-players, the thing was an inconvenience to everyone. We had to search around in different cities to find a guild bank we could access to get our raiding supplies, for example.
You mean another thing they broke down on that further ruined the game? When the world stops being world you get queuecraft.
You get queuecraft when you add queues to the game. If Blizzard wants people to hoof it around so badly, they should remove the teleport-to-instance feature of LFD, LFR, arenas, and battlegrounds. Make people walk there like they used to.
But they won’t do that. Even while they prattle on about how immersive it is to be roaming around on the ground, they refuse to remove the teleport functions from queued content.
Don’t blame flying; you’re missing the target.
No flying was the first step in that direction. Then when people complained about having to fly there they made LFD. All these changes catering to people whining about actually having to live in a virtual world.
We are just going to have to disagree. I recall the outrage about the change was far louder than the people crying about it.
