Prepatch Event - (corrected) Dailies can get all transmogs

See my last edit

So if you are a completionist or wish to get all of the transmogs sets, I don’t see it being feasible.

For this going to ignore dailies and just use the data from rare spawns.

Each rare drops around ~30-50 stones (sake for argument going to use 30).
You turn in 25 stones for 3 Commendations.
It takes you 135 Commendations to compete just 1 set.
You have a total of 8 sets to get (4 armor types & Horde/Alliance versions).

Lets assume you are doing this event non-stop without large breaks and getting a rare every 20 minutes.

Single Set Goal: 135 Commendations.
You need to complete 45 stone turn in quests, each one gives you 3 Commendations.
Each turn in quest needs 25 stones.
Lets say you get 30 stones per boss.
You will need 1,125 stones to complete a set.
That translates to average around 38 bosses to kill!

Now take to the rotation times into the mix.
Each one takes 20 minutes so that will be a total of 760 minutes or around 13 hours just to complete a set!

If you want to get all 8 sets then you will need:
9,000 stones
Around 300 bosses killed
104 hours or around around 4 days (this if you do every single boss without a break)

Lets say you only have 4 hours in a day to play when you get home from work, that will take you 26 days to complete every single transmog for this event!

You only have 14 days for this event.

Edit: Made the mistake of the amount of items for a set, its not 150 commendations its 135

Edit2: I’m sure things can pick up after week 2 unlocks for dailies https://www.wowhead.com/guides/shadowlands-deaths-rising-prelaunch-event-scourge-invasions#pre-patch-dailies

Edit3: I can try to add the dailies and what you get on the intro quests but would take longer.

Edit4:
So looks like you only get 23 commendations on normal quests for the 2 week period. Only enough for 1 piece.
Week 1 normal quests is 13 commendations.
Week 2 normal quests is 23 commendations (includes week 1).

Horde seems to have the only city daily as I can’t find the SW one, that is 5 commendations. That quest is an unknown.

Week 1 Dailies:
12 Commendations per day
84 Commendations for Week 1 Dailies
97 total Commendations for Week 1 Dailies + Quests

Week 2 Dailies:
9 additional commendations per day
147 Commendations for Week 1 and 2 Dailies
170 Total Commendations for Week 1 and 2 Dailies and Quests.
That is 11 pieces of gear with some left over.

Ok, I now see how dailies will be the factor. I was only using the boss farming.
If someone can double check my work.

It is. But you have to no life it. And we will get more dailies next week.

I thought it was 135?

Am I missing something here? Don’t you just need belt, legs, boots, gloves, bracers and… if you really want those napkins… cloaks? You should already have helmet, shoulders and chests from the war campaign.

I already decided its not worth doing on my alts

The Alliance set is a different coloration. The shoulders are slightly different for Horde.

I thought the entire horde array of sets was the exact same one that was already in the game?

I only had to buy 6/10 of them. I’m not positive where the others came from but I definitely had them before the event.

I’ll have to go back and look… it didn’t have the bluey text for new transmogs for my plate or chain guy. I’m doing leather right now… you can also get separate pieces on various alts. Doing the intro quests + dailies is like 24 tokens.

Ahh shoot I missed it by 1 item. Correct it is 135. It still is a ridiculous amount.

Do they not convert to their faction counterparts? Like if you unlock the Alliance leather you’d get the Horde leather too? Haven’t checked on these, but a lot of sets tend to do that.

They do. So it’s only four sets you need to get.

Sadly no. I play both Alliance and Horde and none of transmogs are shared.

Are you sure? A few other people told me they swap depending on faction.

I’m getting on my Alliance hunter to verify… I bought the legs today on my Horde Shaman.

EDIT: Yea… doesn’t seem like my Alliance dude has the legs but it could also be the 8 hour thingy. Item needs to be in your inventory for 8 hours before being added to your transmog library right?

I have two warriors, one horde and one on alliance, both of them have different sets and if I learned one item from horde, it doesn’t show learned on the Alliance.

Well that sucks. So that’s 8 sets.

in b4 a green poster comes in here trying to defend this.

Ok, so it probably is the 8 hour thing.

I bought the legs on my H Shaman and both my H Hunter and A Hunter don’t have it so we have to wait 8 hours with the item in our inventory before it’s added to our transmog list.

Also, both Mail and Plate definitely should have 3 pieces via war campaign and I’m sure Leather and Cloth do as well.

If someone can disproof what I found, I’m all for it.

I want myself to get all the items + gear up my alts, but looking at the numbers, it doesn’t look good.

I thought it was odd when I had a bunch of stones to turn in and can only get 1-2 items. That was after grinding on bosses, it felt underwhelming.

If that’s the case, you can end the wait instantly by transmogging your gear to whatever you bought off the vendor.

It’ll prompt you with the whole “Are you sure, this will remove your ability to refund” thing.
