Prepatch dooming

So, I’m usually pretty positive or at least optimistic about new expansion rollouts, I was holding on for hope that there would be a bunch of class changes, especially around healers this last week before the prepatch dropped.

But it kind of feels like prepatch is going to be a big turd almost all around, I feel like every class and spec across the board is going to be worse off than they are.

Point out some classes where that isn’t the case, I want to be wrong so tell me how I am.

from the specs I tried a bit ago, disc priest was easier to play and holy paladin felt the same as it is but less buttons. Same with ret, ret is actually more fun imo.

only thing I really REALLY questioning is why the actual event isn’t until a week after this patch?

People will realize on Tuesday how horrible the new UI is, their classes pruned, and no content for 5 weeks. I’m not paying to beta test for them so I hope its good by the time S1 rolls around.

I use crusader strike a lot as holy paladin for generating holy power, it feels way different to me on the beta without it.

As far as disc being easier, I like oracle and the stuff it added, which will be going away, and I felt like voidweaver made it pretty easy already.

I know it’s a personal preference thing but I’m sad about it

Assassination is so slow due to energy issues that you can go make a sandwich between attacks. Also, class still has the same bugs it has had for years :+1:.

Yeah the dps rotation of holy paladin is missing that one button for sure. It wasn’t a bloat button issue or anything for holy, so it was a strange cut. But that said, somehow paladin is doing more dps than most other healers lol. (It’s not a lot) but yeah. :expressionless_face: I don’t think they want us to do anything at all but heal.

Going into Legion, Blizzard all but completely deleted Enhancement shaman and replaced us with a different spec wearing our hollowed out skin.

Enhancement’s Midnight rework isn’t quite that extreme, but it’s the most dismayed I’ve been going into a new expansion’s rework since then.

This discussion needs more DH. Nobody dooms like the Felhammer crowd.

I don’t think so either, seems like the damage you can contribute isn’t worth the trade off of taking your eyes off the health bars.

As we know it, I don’t feel fine

No worries, Mythic+ is getting nerfed to the point you probably don’t even need to use an interrupt until like a +12.

Hell no. Enhancement and elemental shamans look amazing. Unholy dk looks amazing. Shadow priest looks amazing. I haven’t given much thought to others, but I imagine most will be good or fine, with only a few being outright bad. Looking at you, hunters. The shelf is ready for you.

That’s good, they took my interupt away

I haven’t tried those, I’ll have to take a peek.

The tentacle is an upgrade and looks cool, so there is that. That’s a solid point

Class/spec gutting.
Stat squish.
Months of re-“balanacing”.
Etc.

Why should we have good vibes about next week?

It’ll feel uncomfortable for a while for everyone. Then we’ll get used to it just like we always do.

I don’t doubt that but it’s just like why do we have to take the hit before the expansion, who does that?

This is one of the worst feeling prunes I’ve played through.

It’s so Blizzard can get all the tuning and bugs worked out before the expansion launch.

One of the reasons why WoW expansions are so polished and bug free.

They’ve been releasing system updates prior to the expansion since TBC. The goal, in theory, is to hammer out the major woes before the new content is released.

Reality scarcely fits that theory.

Yea I’ve been here since vanilla, this has been my all time least favorite prepatch. The one right after legion might be a runner up.
