More than likely October 6th, my guess they will announce it this coming Monday/Tuesday.
That’s because they have the Arena Championships going on this weekend. They likely wanted those games to go down first and get them out of the way then a one week break to fix everything up. My guess is october 6 if I had to guess.

its unlikely there is a delay and more likely the announcement will be a day or two prior to dropping it, paired with hopefully a CGI cinematic, similar to the Old Soldier cinematic
I don’t know why some of you are so stressed out.
I think fixing characters having been deleveled and rolled back years on their recent merger is way more important than pre-patch anyway.

It was only one server and it was Khadgar’s doing. I blame Khadgar for pulling a prank.
The reason he mentioned that there was a delay is that the release candidate that showed up early this week got reverted today in the latest build back down to a test candidate.

there is prepatch always been at least 1 month with except of one time it was 28 days, if patch is the 6th thats only 20 days so yeah if its not tuesday then definately delayed its already been delayed 1-2 weeks already

It wasn’t changed “back down” to a test candidate. Nor was it reverted.
It’s a new build and it’s also a higher build number. Almost 60 builds past the “ Release” version.

There is no conclusive evidence either way.
In BFA there was never a specific date of pre-patch announced until the day of.
The “PvP Season Ending” update was similar to the one we got Monday.
Even if it’s not delayed, I’m sure the dev team has been/will be hard at work until SL releases.
I only wish that Blizzard would hire someone, or just tell an intern, to poke their virtual head into the forums to say something like:
“The pre-patch will be next Tuesday as long as the building doesn’t burn down.”
That’s not accurate. BfA’s pre-patch date was announced the Friday before launch. I found the Wowhead article about it while I was trying to make guesses for this patch.
