Preorder beta testing

How come, pre orders cant get access to alpha/beta?

I know its like a sense of entitlement. But aside from some cosmetic items and dragonflight pre ordering kind of feels lackluster at best if you think about it. Would kind of be nice to be able to beta test the new expansion if we pre purchased. Other games do it. Ff14 doesnt because beta is done internally by the team.

Because you don’t purchase that during preorders.

Alpha testing is initially kept small.

Yet wowhead and content creators get in…

It would not surprise me if they are looking for players with very specific playstyles that suggests they might make good testers. Besides the streamers, of course.

In my opinion, players who do high end content should be the ones to get beta testing first, possibly alpha testing.

That means the mythic raiders, the people doing high mythic keys with good io scores, and the arena elite/gladiators.

Oh well.

I actually was on the Alpha and Beta testing for BFA…I played almost more of testing than after the expac was released. It was tedious and hard work. By the time BFA was released to the public I had a very hard time leveling another character. Maybe I was chosen because I have been playing since Dec of 2004 (shrug) Anyways i wouldn’t want to do it again , IMHO it takes so much mystery away from the game play. I was amazed they invited an older woman… I’m not a casual and have spent thousands of hours in game, but I am a soloist always have been ~

Im not a casual by any means because on my main who i shelfed i push heroic aotc raiding.

But thats fair but casuals do make up the majority of the playerbase. That cant be denied.

That’s an opinion. It’s also possible that they might want people who do a lot of different content. It’s not clear at this point if any high end content is available yet, since this is only the alpha, and people are looking for really broken stuff.

Because they have a stronger voice/feedback to give

Because the last time they did this for beta, no one ever tested, they just played the game as if it were an early release.

And alpha is something us peons don’t screw with.

why so the game can suck like it has for yrs it don’t work that way either. thats literally one of the silliest statements said in awhile.

I highly disagree. Usually, players who do high end content don’t give a crap about storyline, grammar, spelling errors, quests, how the zones play out, etc. They care about end game only. And that’s fine. But this game isn’t about just raids and dungeons.

They’re the LAST ones who should have access to test all of the high end content.

Which from what i remember beta testing legion. They have a submit bug/feedback button which you’re supposed to use. Thats why we beta test to submit feedback and bugs. I do that in the live game because i see bugs all the time.

I mean you’re right, but casuals also take their time when going through this type of content.

Blizzard is trying to get Dragonflight released by the end of December or sooner. They need testers who will go through the content at a relatively fast pace and who can find these types of bugs in high end content.

Which is why it’s fine to include players like that as well, but problems such as grammar/spelling errors are so minor and really easy to fix. You just change a few lines. Most new quests are copy pasted from previous expansions, these quest bugs are very easy to find and easy to fix because they’ve encountered it in the past before.

Lesser known bugs, such as the way a class plays in certain content, overturned, etc. is something that won’t be found by a casual player who only cares about the story/zone.

Again, nothing wrong with that, it’s good to have those players, but I feel they should get the balance right.

Because they’ve already got your money

One example out of the many I gave… and regardless, there are still a bunch in SL that never got fixed.

Well that’s just false and nonsensical. It doesn’t mean there still can’t be bugs. C’mon now… use some logic. It all still needs tested.

Do you work for Blizzard? Do you have a clue how their coding specifically works? No? Then let’s stop making stuff up.

And that’s stuff for later on when that content actually comes out on Alpha and Beta. Which isn’t now.

You don’t want the balance right. You want end game progression people playing storyline content and not reporting stuff, because there’s nothing out for them now to even test in end game content.

No, but I find bugs in game as a hobby lmao.

I use tons of bugs and exploits and I can tell you, most of the bugs I have found and that have been abused by other players in the past have been from quests.

I’ve encountered the same type of quests that were a problem in the past in BfA and SL, and I can tell you Blizzard has been really fast on fixing them to prevent from being abused again.

That’s nice. You still don’t know their coding and everything that needs done before release.

Well I kind of disagree with your opinion. In Testing BFA I did NO raids, No Dungeons, but they still needed people to test out the questing content. I never left Zandalar content . There were things randomly put out in the World to be tested for the placement of those things. I found all sorts of things that at release date might have still been in game. The top 3 is not what this game was entirely meant for. It is a Fantasy World for all types of players who choose the way they want to play and not being forced being left out. ~

We need more people who play test the economy in here too. A lot of gold makers called out legendaries as a looming disaster.

Need people to give professions a sniff test so SL professions never happen again.
