I dunno. Locking people out of raid warnings and marking capabilities which help your group win simply because you don’t like premades? That’s pretty bad.
It’s definitely on the same level as players that ignore calls in BGs from people trying to coordinate, or go AFK.
You are actively deciding to harm 39 other player’s chances of winning.
I’m personally more on the side of the reporters.

It’s not just this generation. I’m an old man, and I’ve seen this behavior my entire life. It’s the primary reason I am such a misanthrope today.
Honestly, most people are sheep. They get their self esteem and even their shame from the approval or lack thereof of the groups they associate with. It makes for behavior that can be astoundingly cruel and unethical. I’m embarrassed for them. I would never trust them to have my back.

Please always give assist the second you see you can no matter what to help the team cooperate as a team. Doesn’t matter if it’s a premade or not you’re hindering your healers from marking themselves for peels or whatever else others need to get the job done.
You chose to hold your team back, who obviously wanted comms to win, premade or not, because of a personal issue.
I’m sure you replied with a super sweet “no thank you” given your issues, right.
And no of course this doesn’t happen to most people.

Yeah without Drek being marked skull and having 10 different people spamming raid warning throughout the whole BG, im not sure the alliance would have won. They wouldnt be able to find their target.

If you refuse to acknowledge that this is clear abuse of the report system, you’re probably one of the people abusing it.
The number of people overlooking bannable offenses because the OP didn’t follow “group etiquette” in a BG is pathetic.
Yeah, because you can’t boot people from a BG. Unless you abuse the report system.
And that somehow excuses abusing the report system to boot someone. Amazing.

When you get mass right click reported for a chat category you get booted off and squelched temporarily.
So yeah. They abused the automated system to boot you.
Never say anything in chat. Doesn’t really protect you but it helps reduce the odds.

No one should have to play in fear that their accounts might be wrongfully flagged, for any reason or no reason at all.
Even if you comply and don’t get mass reported, It should never even have to cross one’s mind. The threat of the abuse is just as bad as the abuse itself.

I was against the reporting system as it is. Blizzard will overturn, and/or punish abuse, but only after damage is already done.
Many knew this would happen, now you get to take the good (ez rcr safe space creation) with the bad (abuse) happening. It’s ok though Blizzard will help you when they get around to it.

I agree. But Blizzard isnt going to do anything about it. They fired most of the support teams in order to move to an automated system where they only need minimal actual people for oversight. Like almost every company these days.

This is why I keep my mouth shut in BGs. I play a druid in WSG. I am expected to run flags, solo d, solo heal myself, solo kite, and take all the blame when we don’t get a cap even if my team is picking their noses mid while 9 players beat on me.
I just state how many inc or efc loc etc.
If I ask the team to go o, I risk a mute or whatever because that’s how the system works. That’s just the way it is. It’s all automated, and not worth the dc/silence waiting for blizzard to overturn it.

Do remember that the OP decided to be a jerk to 39 other people when completely unprovoked because they asked him to push a button that would improve their chances of winning.
Considering that there’s a report AFK option, that exists to combat that exact type of behavior (doing things that actively harm your team), it is hard to be on the OP’s side when they started the whole confrontation for no reason.
Oh please, the premades used weight of numbers to abuse a in game mechanic, because a pug didnt do as they asked.No more no less.
This is the kind of jerk off behaviour that will get premades “fixed” Nevermind how you pull Drek, but to be crapping on your own faction because they wont do as you demand because you think you have the right.
I hope the players that did this to the OP get paid back in kind.

though unethical, there’s nothing in the ToS against being a prick and not giving the premade babies what they want.
what is against ToS is filing false reports enmasse against 1 player.

There’s also nothing in the ToS about being AFK, but there’s a report function for it.
actually there IS things in the ToS about afking in BGs hence why there is a report function.

The team is free to report BG afk’rs. That function is there for a specific reason. If that specific report function is being misused by players to group bully an individual, that entire group needs a severe time-out.
Each player in World of Warcraft is given agency to play the game as they like (with a few TOS defined limitations). The game system awards raid leader to people in a random fashion. If you get it, you can give it to someone else, you can grant raid assist to everyone, or you can keep it yourself. The individual player has agency here and the group can complain about it but nothing more.
