Over the last year, I’ve noticed an increasing trend of epic premade communities, both Horde and Alliance, dominating the epic battleground scene. While it’s great to see teamwork and the occasional strategic play, it couldn’t be more obvious that this is impacting the experience for solo players who join these battlegrounds seeking a balanced and engaging experience.
Epic bgs are 100% meant to be a dynamic and unpredictable battleground where individual skills and spontaneous teamwork are put to the test. You know this, I know this - let’s not pretend like we all don’t know this. When premade groups sweep through, all day every day, the spirit of the game is lost, and it just leads to one-sided matches that can be frustrating for solo players. Stomping pugs is boring, I know I’m bored of it, and leads to nothing but a bad taste in players’ mouths.
So, here’s my suggestion: let’s keep the spirit of competition alive and transition our premades to regular war games. War games offer us the same thrill and challenge of coordinated play without interfering with the epic battleground queue. Yeah, no rewards, but honestly who cares? By scheduling our battles and practicing against other premade teams, we can maintain the intense and strategic gameplay we love while giving solo players and pugs the space to enjoy epic battlegrounds as intended. Imagine this, we all become better players and the solo players can finally have fun. Is this impossible?
Let’s respect the battleground experience for everyone. I know there will be a few that disagree with me; but after all, a fair fight is the best fight. We can all agree on that, right?
I would love to hear any and all opinions/suggestions.
Any time we’ve scheduled something, people fail to show. Even when they say yeah I will be there. There’s something about scheduled pvp that people just don’t like. I experienced it in planning both rated and unrated content. Part of the appeal of epic communities is being able to roll in, type 1, get a spot, and play with your buds. Had a really fun AV vs RR for the last game last night, GG RR!
Selling wow pvp ratings is their full time job, even the big youtubers are in on it… And until Blizzard finally does something they will only feel emboldened.
if you queue for a bg once per week, a wargame might seem like a viable option, but if you queue all the time, game after game, and don’t really do much else in wow besides use the town as a lobby for your pvp game, then wargames are a worthless mode with too many bugs and restrictions while offering no rewards for your play or time.
War-games are not always “fun” for some players. You have to play competitively for 50 minute straight when it’s an even match-up. That is a lot of sustained keypresses.
Playing in the random pool allows for a more relaxed experience and with no hassle.
Now it’s up to blizzard for working to make random bg’s truly random by randomizing the players found in them without affecting queue times.
Historically like in the past the BOTs were out of control, Blizz did one of their Big Ban waves, it toned things way down… The cheaters went back into the shadows keeping their stuff on the down low.
As the game evolves, so do the cheaters, it will never fully go away, buttt it can be tamped down to where players do not notice. Right now its the RMT pvp ratings sellers, they are emboldened and out in the open. You cant even search for things about wow without “those” website advertisements popping up in your feed.
In a perfect world people would be like you OP. But it’s pretty clear it’s the same twink vs non twinks debate. Twinks dont want to face other twinks they want to face non twinks so they can faceroll them.
