20 gbs tho? that’s the entire expansion looks like… from 8.3.7 to 9.0.1 it’s really 20 gbs for the pre patch?

Wowhead first noted the 16 GB BfA patch on the downloader on June 26th, 2018 :
Legion Season 7 end was announced on July 5th :
Pre-patch went live 3 weeks after the download started, 12 days after the end of season announcement, on July 17th.
That’s the usually history of how these things go, you’re not getting the patch next week.

The prepatch is also the expansion. There will be another update around launch.
ok go to the launcher hit the down arrow on the blizzard and go to settings and game updates. and go down till you see auto updated its the third button

The prepatch IS the expansion. Every system will be in place so when launch day comes they can just flip the switch and let us in.

The WoD prepatch and the BFA prepatch were big due to the stat squishes. This is also a full level squish and redoing the whole leveling experience, which is making even bigger changes to every expansion as they are all going to be lvl 10-50 content.
And also all the QOL changes, some of which are fairly nice, some of which I am very ambivalent about, and some which I don’t like but will simply learn to live with.
Sadly, we’ll never know.
