Honestly, as much as I try to make a monk in any other race, it doesn’t feel right. I prefer to have a pandaren monk. Maybe it’s just cause the animations feel like they fit them simply cause of the culture of the Pandarens. But I just have a hard time being a monk in any other race
I’ve made and played a monk in every other race available. it just didn’t sit right with me. maybe it’s just my personal preference, i just can’t play a monk unless it’s a pandaren
My main monk is a Draenei. Cuz rising sun hoof kick to the face is great. Plus they were the bartender who got the pilot drunk the night before the draenei crashed on azeroth. So a net good really.
i tried it on undead and blood elf female first, since those were the two races i was playing at first. it just felt… weird. i know martial arts can be learned by anyone, so even those who are a bit on the skinny side can learn them well. but in game, it didn’t feel natural for either to fight as a monk, because blood elves are thinner in general so it doesn’t feel like there’s any power behind the strikes visually. and undead, well, i love them, my favorite race, but you can’t convince me an undead with their muscles being practically non-existent could deliver a powerful strike visually. i can let stuff like a warrior or death knight pass cause that’s them swinging a weapon made of metal that could still crush or cut, but delivering a deadly palm strike with those bony hands?
This reminds me of the early days of legion. There was some elite Sea giant as part of a quest chain in Azsuna Or maybe it was a world quest, I forget exactly)
A gnome warrior was tanking it and then one of the abilities it used about made me die laughing. That ability was “punt”
