Predictions for Midnight

Dimensius is defeated, but his death triggers a Void phenomenon to cause certain areas of Azeroth’s sky to be permanent night. The player character is called “Champion of Light” and the xpac is about traveling to the effected areas, defeating the most powerful Void entity in the area, and restoring the sky.

After restoring the sky we find out and even greater event called “The Final Hour” is about to happen and we have to use the aide of the Bronzeflight to go back in time to when K’aresh was whole to find out more info about the The Final Hour.

My guess is this, based off spoilers from the PTR.

Xal’atath consumes the remnants of K’aresh’s world soul at some point during the raid, presumably during the fight against Dimensius.

A corrupted Sunwell is the only conduit on Azeroth powerful enough to reforge these remnants/the Dark Heart into something potent enough to take Azeroth’s world soul outright. And so, she launches a surprise assault on Quel’thalas in a manner that echoes Arthas’ effort to take the Sunwell and restore Kel’thuzad.

While she succeeds, the problem for Xal’atath is that this effort will take a massive amount of time. However, the mere biproduct of the ritual corrupts Quel’danas, Silvermoon, and Quel’thalas as a whole. Fighting through the corruption is one thing, but Xal’atath’s ethereal allies and even voidier elves will ensure that this is not an easy fight.

Maybe Xal’atath cut some deal with Azshara, bringing in the naga to provide the excuse as to why we can’t just launch a naval assault against Quel’Danas to begin with.

At the very beginning of the expansion, the sheer amount of void corruption leaking out of the Sunwell is the biggest priority. To counteract this, Umbric, Rommath, and other magical experts among the High/Blood elves decide that the best way to deal with the Sunwell is to reestablish Ban’dorinel, also known as the magical defense that once shielded Quel’thalas, redesigned to keep the magical energies contained within instead.

So the leveling up campaign would focus on making this possible, but would involve us stepping into additional areas like Zul’aman, where we’re surprised to find that the Amani trolls have largely kept their senses and resisted the corruption being output by Xal’atath, on account of having lived atop an Old God minion corpse for the vast majority of the tribe’s existence.

There is no way Blizzard is just gonna straight up copy Final Fantasy 14.

You can’t deny the amount of ShB and EW similarities there have been in TWW though

Where? I haven’t noticed any.

We were not pulled into an alternate world like Shadowbringers. We were not dealing Light beings who try to kill people. TWW is all underground and neither Shadowbringers or Endwalker are underground.

We time travel in Endwalker, not in TWW.

I don’t see how there are any similarities.

So you never did the Titan archive weeklies or know anything about 11.2?

I did do the Titan weekly quests but nothing about those reminded me of Shadowbringers or Endwalker.

And I have avoided 11.2 spoilers as much as possible.

Radiant Song is literally the Echo. Both are described as a calling of sorts to “special” champions when the world is in imminent danger.

They used the crystal motif of the Mothercrystal for Beledar. Legit when that projection of Beledar showed it was copy and paste of the the Mothercrystal.

I won’t spoil the actual plot of 11.2, but it leans very heavily into the Ancients, Zodiark, Convocation of Fourteen, and The Final Days

The Radiant Song is unknown, we don’t really know what it is, but they thought it was Azeroth calling out for help sending visions but it isn’t. That’s not the same as the Echo. Locus Walker also said that they heard the Radiant Song on K’aresh before Dimensius showed up so he assumed it was the same for Azeroth, but we don’t know that is for sure why we are hearing the Radiant Song.

Also WoW has had giant crystals in it well before Final Fantasy did the Mothercrystal.

I know Xal supposed to be the main villain, but if she’s behind the Void invasion, Blizzard gonna wasted the first appearance of a true Void Lord in the game. (Which wouldn’t be his first time when they waste huge potential) I hope the attempt to break through / rebuild Dimensius itself will cause the Void energy to start flowing in every corner of Great Dark Beyond spreading havoc. It would be much better if Xal’atath used the chaos her former boss would cause and then attacked.

Not to mention, if the Radiant Song is from Azeroth, why didn’t Magni, her speaker hear it? Why send it to random heroes etc like Thrall, Anduin and Jaina and not the guy who literally speaks on her behalf.

Later we actually hear Azeroth speak to Magni and it was when he used his powers to free the Halls of Awakening from the void. Freeing him from her service as a result.

Azeroth also speaks to Orwenya too and Azeroth in both situations, doesn’t sound like she’s distressed

Infact, she sounds like she’s got things under control and Magni even says he thinks Azeroth planned for them to show up in Khaz Algar

Honestly I like azeroth has not been princess peach as of late. She has been making strategic moves to put her own pieces on the table to defend herself, instead of being a passive prize to claim.

Midnight I expect Xal to absorb Dimensius, or at least whatever core of him remains. Perhaps she becomes the new All-Devouring. The final dungeon makes me think K’areshi the worldsoul will be just fine. He is small fry compared to the fully intact prime worldsoul she has in her sights.

I am wondering if the Void will respond to a Void Lord falling for real. There are other Void Lords after all, and Azashara has likely been striking deals with them. She might be acting as Xal’s foil in a very alien vs preditor sort of showdown.

Something bad will happen to the blood elves that is for sure. If Blizzard loves one thing its making Horde races suffer.

I hope the 4 main blood elf characters have important roles. Lor’themar with the most screen time Liadrin, Rommath, and Halduron being incharge of reclaiming areas lost to void energies. Umbric would likely be one of the major void elf characters most likely paired off with Rommath. Thalyssra will most likely be paired with Lor’themar. I don’t know which night elf leader they will pick but they would most likely be with Halduron. Liadrin and the Draenei would be fighting near the tainted sunwell. The Amani trolls would most likely be enemies either due to void corruption or attacking while the blood elfs are weakened and distracted by the void. We might see some wreched again probably void corrupted along with void corrupted blood elfs. The native wildlife will probably show various stages of void corruption.

Edit. As for the windrunner sisters if they show up it should be later in the expansion to not eat all the screen time from more deserving characters.

What if the Locus-Walker is actually the Harbinger? I expect Twist in this direction.
What happens when your guide is also the destroyer?(PTR)
Is he evil, or are we just incapable of understanding his purpose?
Every piece of wisdom or guidance may have had a double meaning.
He may have been manipulating Alleria into preparing the way for Midnight.

I’m expecting Xal to pull her very obviously betrayal, absorbs what remains of Dimensius, and then peaces out to corrupt the Sunwell to ascend to a true Void Lord.
