-Two or more groups of 5 working together to turn fights into 10v5 or 15v5. Guilds may even choose brightly coloured tabards to make it extra easy to tell ally from enemy.
Bonus:
-Three 5 man groups syncing their queue into AB so they can have a high chance of being 15v5+pugs.
They should have just made it an actual free-for-all. I heard free for all and got excited. But it turns out it’s just five man parties. Trying to actually play this like a free-for-all will not be viable.
Kill trading will be out of hand, of course. And multiboxers have basically already beaten the event. Which makes it pay to win.
At least it doesn’t give AB rep so it can just be skipped completely while still remaining efficiently repping.
Yeah the only classes who will be able to survive solo pvping STV on the bigger servers are stealth classes.
I’m certainly not expecting to be able to go out there as a Ret Paladin and have a good time without friends so Ill be rolling with a party for sure.
This is a good thing. Players should look at this event and go “Yeah, I want to go play in a 5 man”. That is the true spirit of Classic - technically you can solo, but the game is better with friends. That’s the essence/soul of Classic.
I 100% wish it was capped at 10 instead of 5. Getting a double whammy of premade groups capped at 5 to continue to get the fast-pass Q times and also the world event capping at 5 player both in the same phase is a such a sudden change in the PvP culture.
Anyone can take two or more accounts and manually trade kills with themselves. It’s P2W. Of course, I don’t know if there are diminishing returns, but no disrespect to the devs, it wouldn’t surprise me if this wasn’t thought of given how ashenvale started.
Multiboxers will be the slowest at grinding this if they try to kill trade with themselves. Guilds, or just raids in general will be what breaks this.
Form a 40 man raid before event to get on same layer. When it starts break into 5 man groups. First group kills the other 35, repeat until the event ends. Gathering 35 tokens at a time is going to be far more efficient 1 at a time.
And then, shortly before the event ends, immediately after your last skirmish, while your group is still licking their wounds, drop the party and kill them all.
Frankly, all I care about is that there are no Raid Bosses.
Would I have liked a faction v faction PvP event in Arathi alongside this FFA PvP event in STV? Sure, but I know that the SoD team isn’t operating on more than a shoestring budget on top of only having months to develop this stuff so I’m not expecting the world from them.
The fact that we won’t have to PvE for our PvP already makes this STV event a thousand times better than the Battle for Ashenvale was. Keep raid bosses out of my WPvP events and I’ll be happy. I’m a simple fella like that.
