Upper Management is by all standard corporate definitions entails fiduciary responsibility to shareholders. Ion is not fiduciarily responsible to shareholders.
Mostly because you dont want to see it from above
False. Demonstrably so. Find any rare mob and attack it. If the mob is also attacked by a member of the same faction or from the opposite faction all receive credit for the attack and loot. Tags on quest mobs while not shared cross faction are shared on same faction kills and again credit is received. Mining and Herbing nodes are shared (for whatever that is worth as no one seemingly needs those nodes in new content (I myself have run past the same unmined node in Zandalar over the course of a couple of hours and saw no one mine it)). World PvP is only accessible if you turn on War Mode which no one of import does unless they specifically want to PvP. If that is your thing then go for it but it will not interfere with non War Mode content or players. Additionally efficiency of herb gathering, questing etc, isn’t something anyone should be concerned about in relation to other players, wPvE (not a mistype) is not about competing with other players but literally about competing directly with the ENVIRONMENT (the ‘E’ in PvE). The only example you cited for which your statement rings even a slight bit true is PvP and that as has already been discussed is niche entertainment at best. All the rest are as I have just demonstrated, False.
not really
what you are describing is more C-level
upper management is more than just C-level
while C-level may have a fiduciary responsibility to shareholders, people below them don’t necessarily have that responsibility
someone with the title VP of Marketing would generally be considered upper management, but wouldnt have a fiduciary responsibility, his C-level boss would hold that responsibility
while Ion is certainly not part of the upper management of blizzard
in the context of the post, Ion is being referred to as part of the upper management of wow
while the term isn’t necessarily accurate, the meaning is, Ion is the top echelon of blizzard employees on the WoW team, he hold the most responsibility on the WoW team
so as it pertains directly to wow, you, and everyone else, knows what is meant by calling Ion ‘upper management’
What a useless discussion, flying is a nice perk we all like.
But please tell me objectively what does not being able to fly stop you from achieving in game.
I’ll wait.
Sure thing. As soon as you tell the rest of us who fly why we must accept that since you like to RP walk run or ride on the ground that we may not use the items we have legitimately purchased or earned? We pay the same subscription/token fee that you do, and we pay more for our in game mounts to not have them work as advertised and you are okay with that? Your playstyle is not harmed at all by removal of flight while ours is. Your playstyle is not harmed at all by timegating a feature while ours is.
You will? Okay I suggest you not hold your breath though it could be a very long wait indeed.
No. Until YOU can satisfactorily answer the question why my gameplay must be impacted by your playstyle when my playstyle does not materially impact yours, you will not receive an answer to your question from me.
Since, the OP (way back at post 1) referenced Ion then said I wish Upper Management would step in, and since Ion and Alex A. were the reason we had the whole noflight debacle and then the just as unacceptable Pathfinder to begin with, Upper Management refers to someone above Ion’s paygrade and within the same business channel that would be able to speak directly to Ion and Alex and say no your idea wont work it will cost us too much money and customer good will. Go back and fix it so that we don’t lose either. That person or persons would be acceptable definitions of Upper Management in this context.
Unless of course people kill it before you can tag it. So- not false.
Again, presuming things are not being killed before you can reach them. Big presumption. So- not false.
Nodes have a grace period before disappearing but it is relatively short. They still disappear out from under people. Also, people still buy and sell herbs and ore on the AH. They are still relevant even if you chose not to care about them. So again - not false.
No one of import? I guess your name checks out.
Some people turn it on to farm. It gives bonuses. Also, there aren’t as many bots to compete with for those nodes that you think nobody farms. So again- not false.
And as we see, you’re wrong.
I don’t advocate for not being able to fly at all, I’d like to and as soon as I get the reps I’ll be flying from point A to point B.
The truth is as you refused to answer is that not being able to fly does not prevent you from playing the game or raid it farm etc etc. It just doesn’t
When it comes to you buying mounts you want to use, you can still use them I don’t see your point. You pay for a service and the service provider tells you what he is gonna offer, so next expansion the service comes with no flying until the service provider decides it’s available.
If you don’t like the services on offer you can buy from a different provider as you would with any service you use ok a daily basis.
Please do tell what in the game it’s unachievable without flying because all your post said was “because I want it and i want it now” in a very opinionated way.
Fun. No flying fails to achieve fun.
Prove me wrong.
That’s like me asking you to disprove that Emma Watson isn’t the hottest woman in the world… It’s subjective.
If you are idea of fun it’s floating in a capital city of thinking that everyone is admiring your rare mount the truth is no one cares what mount anyone is got.
I don’t think flying is particularly fun it’s convenient and efficient and like I said as as I have it I will use, however im happy with product and what’s on offer because it’s not depriving me of achieving my goals.
Getting aotc doing a 15 key rolling a class I haven’t played I find that fun flying just takes me places quicker that is it.
You are correct it is subjective. Flying is fun for some and not for others.
I personally enjoy flying and it gives me a better perspective of the world that Blizzard has created.
Lastly, who cares if people like it or don’t like it?
You don’t have to fly to show of mounts in town.
This is also subjective. You may find it fun but others may not.
Imagine how bigger the world would feel if they utilize all three dimensions of quest design. You could literally fill an entire zone with quests and objectives.
You all just keep knit picking what I say and can’t face the reality that if you don’t like the service you pay for you don’t have to stick around and also the fact that when it comes to the game itself lack of flying doesn’t stop you from playing every single aspect of the game.
Face it like an adult, no flying it’s happening yet again and no amount of whining no matter how well disguised it is, it gonna change that.
Enjoy the game as it stands the day you play it and that’s it otherwise it’s like when you don’t want to be at work and the day goes by slower, you are giving yourself a bad time.
I think you’re missing the point. While at some level I agree with you, you’re certainly not going to provide for community and possible dev feedback without a discussion.
the Sub slide has been a thing since the end of wrath, even cata which allowed you to do exactly what everyone keeps saying “buy flying cheaply and making it a core mechanics for lvling in the zones” was a sub numbers drop from Wrath.
you’re making this out to be the single issue which has caused sub drops whenever it hasn’t
I’m trying to incite discussion but non of them have been able to provide an objective of what they are missing out without flying when it comes to playability nor can they admit it’s just commodity and not necessity, therefore arguing against when it’s released it’s more of a selfish go go nature than actually playing the game.
It costs more money to build larger zones in an expansion. Thats all it comes down to.
I didn’t hear they were removing flight.
