I mean, if you want to do a walking simulator, that’s cool. You do you. Me, I prefer having things to do. At least in games like the new Tomb Raider series or Horizon: Zero Dawn, you have mobs in the area, and can make a game of trying to figure out how to lure enemies and stealth kill them without drawing an entire pack on you. (For some reason, having a literal pile of twelve dead soldiers doesn’t tip off those cultists that they shouldn’t go into the tall grass to investigate a whistle, but oh well, not my problem!)
They added anti-flight mechanics and NPC in the mech zone, and it was done very well imo. You have to pay attention, i love that challenge.
My guess, just based on the lack of dialog from the devs is that nothing will change. I have no reason to believe they know this is even an issue for some of their customers. It is out of pure spite they leave in PF for old content.
I had to re-earn flight every PF xpac and I don’t care if people get it for free now.
Well not likely because veteran players that return will not bother with BFA/WoD/Legion expansions to level to the new level cap of 50 as they will choose the expansions that offer flight via gold (BC, WotLK, Cata and MoP).
Blizz has a tendency to be sensitive to players skipping their more recent “content”. Which is ironic given how badly they pruned Legion and WoD content wise for leveling players.
This is me.
Fail to understand the logic Blizzard is using i mean lets announce plans to introduce a game change that quickly gets nearly abhorred by 90% of the playerbase and instead of stepping back and thinking “hmm maybe this wasnt such a good idea” instead lets double down on the stupidity and they some how manage to make it worse
What kind of financial advisor are they listening to where this kind of issue susccessfully drive their subscription numbers down from 12 to 5 mill yet they think thats a positive thing?
Edit and no im not just referring to flight removal but regardless of what the actual reason was for that many people to quit in such a short time should be a clear indicater that the game is in trouble
100% in agreement with this.
I couldn’t agree more with this statement. Putting flight behind pathfinder has turned it into the game’s biggest carrot. It allows them to turn world content into nothing more than the route to gain pathfinder. You take away pathfinder and there is suddenly nothing to do in the world because the world is built as nothing more than the path to achieve it.
It would absolutely trivialize world content. But only because world content is legitimately only pathfinder and pet battles.
I’ve seen more WPvP with flying than ever before. People can put out the call in chat and anyone who wants to fight can get on their mounts and join in the fun without having to navigate terrain to get there. It’s been the same ever since flying mounts were added in BC.
And that’s just one example. Flying makes the game better. It’s one of the best features of WoW and it’s crazy that Blizzard keeps holding it back because of personal dislike for it on the development team.
Considering Blizzard is the one creating the content and pathfinder which trivialized it in the first place it only reaffirms what players have said before the fault lies with the developers they either lack the ability or the desire to actually create content
Which begs the question which is it? Are they incompetent or just lazy?
A little of column A and a little of column B.
Honestly another possibility it perhaps could be due to an inexperience factor or maybe the developers themselves are suffrring from burn out same as any other employee
After all im sure even game designing is not immune to the same kind of risk of falling into a rut and as such they simply grow bored with it until they find a way to reignite the passion that made them llve doing what they do
What? People have been grinding out reps to exalted since vanilla. ??
No flying in classic isn’t what makes it like that. The massively reduced layers of rng, lack of crz and lfd is what does that. Remember, flying came out in BC and had zero negative impact. People just like to use flying as a conveniant scape goat.
I love my flying mounts and using them to farm ore. So in my case it was a positive change. I am fairly certain I am not alone in this.
All you have to do is read through his posting history to see he is a troll… and that is pretty much all he does. I just wonder how he is not getting struck with the ban hammer?
If bringing up TBC or Wrath in a flight thread is relevant, then bringing up Vanilla/Classic is relevant.
For you pvp no flyers out there, what of Blizz simply disabled flying if warmode is enabled?
I would be fine with that.
People dont realize that millenial was the last generation. At this point millenials are 23-35. What they are referring to are generation Z.
