It’s meaningful because I actively make a choice that gives me a unique view of the game.
How would you have felt if everyone was able to freely walk in on the paladin class hall in Legion, and get all of their benefits? There was a sense of belonging and pride with our classes in Legion, and while covenants aren’t quite the same, it’s along those same lines.
I’m just willing to be headstrong about it instead of a lot of these other people that try and hide their joy behind a veil of weak arguments involving arbitrary RPG criteria and “meaningful choices”.
I enjoy meaningful choices and even I dknt get it. The enjoyment is getting that last bit of power and being proud of it. For some people, not being the best you can possibly be in anything seems off. But immediately downvoting those opinions just because they don’t align with your is silly.
That’s a personal issue. I have no problem making a choice and sticking with it because I feel like it.
That’s not really an apples to apples comparison. It would be closer to say how would I feel if people could switch classes and then use the appropriate hall, which would be fine since they were the right class.
If it means so much to you to decide to have that unique view, why would you ever consider switching if it were allowed?
Ok so I’m not on the Beta but my understanding was that while lvling you have a chance to try out all 4 then you could make your decision at lvl 60? So what has changed?
Self-imposed rules simply feel different than system imposed rules. Its basic psychology. I like the idea of having to play around with a different kind of choice and develop strategies using them. That gameplay loop would feel different if I could opt out at anytime. I don’t hate min maxing and don’t have a vendetta against anyone or their playstyle.
This is something I’ve commented on in a couple other threads.
This whole locked in thing is to get people to make alts so they play more.
People say all they look at is monthy numbers but can anyone say they can’t track how often a person/s log on throughout that month . I don’t think it would be hard for a bunch of computer programmers develop a system to track something like that.
Imagine being punished for the desires of people like us and having an addiction so strong you continue to support the company that designs the systems that bring us this kind of joy.
If we’re spiteful - what does that make you for continuing to take and pay for the punishment?
then why do all the tryhard cutting edge raiders and high key pushers all get beta access and you’re stuck on the GD if Ion loves you and values you so much?
It really is the same thing, except we get to actively choose this time beforehand (as opposed to the class halls already being predetermined). I pick a flavor, get embraced by it, get some exclusive stuff as a result. It just wouldn’t be the same if we all just got everything. There’s be no pride or connection there.
