Pre raid gearing this phase is good

Honored rep through incursions opens up sets to wear. Gnomer gear is still ok. New dungeons with good drops. Can still get a wep from pvp.

Even dual spec lines up with it, this opens a new door with the ease of gearing.

I agree. There are many avenues to upgrades and the pre-raid upgrades don’t entirely stomp the old BIS. I quite like the balance.

I hear what you’re saying. Gear is good.

That said the pre raid gearing of both phase 2 and 3, especially 3, were practically non existent. I got the vast majority of my gear within 24 hrs and the rest (wild gods) in a couple of days.

Eh, I’m mixed.

I like the diversity of gear options, but a lot of the level 45-50 gear is either a) insanely rare/expensive, or b) worse than or maybe a sidegrade to Gnomer gear. If you check pre-raid BIS lists, at least for mage, you’ll see (ignoring green BoEs with no stats except spell damage) quite a few pieces are from Gnomer/p2. Most the PvP and Emerald Warden items just don’t stack up, and there were only a handful of pieces reasonably farmed from dungeons.

A few things I noticed in particular:

  1. In p2 mages had a pre-raid BIS cloak and ring from the STV event. In p3 the only thing we have is a ring, unique to the p2 one, that costs 3x the coins and is -2 int for +1 spell damage and some stamina, so not really even an improvement for throughput. Essentially, there’s no reason for us to do that event which is a little annoying.

  2. In p2 there were many pre-raid BIS or BIS crafted gear. Dreamweave gloves and the epic tailoring helm were BIS, dreamweave chest and mageweave pants were pre-BIS, might be missing one. In p3 there’s only one such piece for tailors and it’s the epic shoulders requiring running ST.

  3. Weapons are either not great or rare/expensive. I ran Gnomer all phase and never got the Gizmoblade so just last weekend managed to upgrade my SM Lib dagger I got at level 33 with a slightly better 1h from Mara…and it’s not even that good. For context my mage friend had to run Mara literally 20x to see that dagger drop and on several occasions when randos he was grouped with learned that’s why he was there he was mocked because it’s kinda bad. But the thing is, there’s not really many options, unlike many other classes who can get really strong weapons through PvP/STV.
