Pre pull trinkets for casters etc

So a lot of classes like elementals and such abuse a ton of on hit proc items (MH rings, BOE helm etc etc) and trinkets then swap to other stuff on pull to get extra DPS, this has been going on for several phases and even rets are doing it with greatness instead of tiny, cause it has no ICD.

Are we ever gonna fix these exploits, it took no time fixing this kind of stuff for dks and warriors, but casters have been doing it near all expansion and it still isnt fixed ?

it isnt hard in many cases either, no longer wearing the trinket should remove all effects granted by it, for ele it might be harder since it is mostly fire elemental that they snapshot the damage too, so it would prob have to dynamically scale.

Wrong and insulting. Elem is bottom of the barrel right now. Snapshotting is a fun little tech and should stay in the game. Snapshotting was only egregious in one case: haste for DK gargoyle.
Removing a trinket does remove the buff. Also, a “ton”? BOE helm? What? What is an MH ring? Also, if it is an on-hit proc it can’t be used until combat starts, and once combat starts you cannot swap trinkets.
The only prepull things an elem could do is use healing stream totem to charge up Illustration of the Dragon Soul to 10 charges, and use an on-use spell power trinket to snapshot fire elem before combat starts. Flare of the Heavens, available to everyone via scourgestones, is a more powerful proc than any on-use trinket, so it is a superior snapshot compared to a pre-pull on-use+trinket swap. Snapshotting and casting fire elem before pull also wastes some of its uptime.

Fire elem snapshot goes like this:
Have totem of wrath down, pre-pot wild magic, enter combat, get Flare proc within the potion duration (doesn’t always happen), get ICC ring proc (also doesn’t always happen), pop orc racial and if 2nd trinket is an on-use then use that too, cast fire elem. Zero trinket swap or pre-pull shenanigans other than the standard pre-pot. Fire elem only scales with spell power (specifically nature for some reason), and Reign of the Dead still beats an on-use trinket even if it gets you a little extra oomph on the fire elem.

Get logically eviscerated and begone, troll.

i really enjoy your recent presence to the forums
always with good insight

They also fixed several warrior snapshots in naxx, like tier 2 and TK trinket AP pre pull ? When it wasnt even close, what class was the worst in the game at the time. This is done with nr 1 phylactory arcane mage prepulling it using a fire dot on themself from a BRD consumable. It is done by rets pre pull with greatness and swap to Tiny and so on.

Yes, mount hyjal healing ring proc, the BOE level 60 or 70 helmet that also has a proc, from looking at your inability to understand this about your class i suppose you are bare bones player, not able to do it.

Yeah, never killed LK, purple parsing on a charity class with no competition LMAO.

Tiny and reign both have 0 ICD, so you can prepull another trinket and swap to reign, you new to the game ?

Like how bad at your class are you ?

Level 10 retail sockpuppet coming in to complain about something at the tail end of the game, claiming it’s been a problem since the start, yet never bothered to complain about it before now. In other words, straight to the delist pile.
:axe:

I tested this at lunch, and admittedly I am a little embarrassed and I apologize for how strongly I worded my first response. The MH ring proc remains after removing the ring, and I assume the BoE helm you speak of (Circlet of Arcane Might) would function the same way. I further assume, as you claim, that proc-based trinkets will work like this too (legit thank you, that means I can try to get an Abyssal Rune proc and switch to Reign before combat). The buff from on-use trinkets, such as Maghia’s Misguided Quill, is unfortunately not retained upon removing the trinket. I assumed the proc buffs would behave like the on-use buffs, and on that point I was mistaken.

MH healer ring: 93sp for 10seconds, 10% chance (any spell)
Circlet of Arcane Might: 120sp for 15seconds, 2% chance (any spell)
Abyssal Rune: 590sp for 10seconds, 25% chance (harmful spell only)
Flow of Knowledge: 590 for 10seconds, 10% chance (any spell)
Flare: 959sp for 10seconds, 10% chance (harmful spell only)

I’m still thinking this is a total non-issue due to the rarity of getting all those procs up at the same time and close enough to the pull timer to not waste any of fire elem’s uptime. Abyssal Rune or Flow of Knowledge swapped into Reign sounds interesting though. Flare is too powerful to not be included in the fire elem snapshot, and if running Abyssal Rune you risk triggering Flare as well–good for the snapshot, bad because much of its first-proc duration is wasted not benefitting other spells. So actually Flow of Knowledge would be the play: spamming healing stream totem to pre-proc, swap to Reign, pre-pot, enter combat, and hope for Flare proc before Flow proc expires, snapshot fire elem. This maximizes snapshot without wasting any of Flare’s duration.

Admittedly I was confrontational, but this guy has a point. If you’re going to mock my 89.6 average, which is totally respectable, I’d like to see you post on a character with both a higher parse and a heroic LK kill.

Idk anything about ret paladins, but I think they deserve a nerf. Just not in a way that will also nerf us poor, neglected elem shamans.

Thank you very much!

If you had 2 brain cells you would realize i am from the EU and post here on a 10 retail char cause i play on the competetive servers lol.

Yet it wasnt a problemt to fix it for Unholy and warriors now was it ?

Unholy is not that good anymore, warriors were dog when they did it.

you have no excuse for keeping these snapshot bugs in the game ?

Ele shamans can get a buff that doesnt rely on them abusing bugs ?

I have never used tricks like this, and they are so inconsequential it doesn’t matter. It’s an interesting tech that doesn’t always work, let people have their fun. The ring is only 93 spell power, and the BoE helm has a mere 2% chance to proc. You act like it’s guaranteed every pull. Such a weird thing to cry about on the forums. Did your warrior get beat on the meters by a lowly elem sham?

That would be dope.

Physical all on top but here we are crying about casters when only one spec (Fire mage) is in the top 5?

Get a grip, hit unsub, shut down your pirated copy of windows 7, and find a job.

BRB, trash talking lowly American ele shams at 4AM on my friday night/sat morning
collects welfare

Phys on top, while you are playing a mage, you do know the nr1 dps is fire, or are you just that bad ? WHILE the legendary of this end tier is a melee weapon LOL.

You are still excusing something that has been fixed for loads of other classes cause you dont care and its your main, that isnt an argument.

I value fairness, buff ele shamans as a compensation idgaf, i hate the consequential unfair treatment towards some classes more than others.

what you call Exploits is part of the game & since 2004 there been always things to be abused if you hate it that much then don’t play WoW because wow is all about abusers abusing things.

Having a lack of intelligence is like the norm at this point with these responses.

Hello world to failrogue, they are actively fixing loads of these abuses that categorically is the exact same snapshots, they just seem to not care about fixing all of them, cause they forgot a lot of them.

Exactly, they’re fixing some of those after months/years, No point in doing that at all anyways.
& that’s why i told you “if you don’t want to play unfair game filled with abuses all the time then do not play wow”

You´re lack of intelligence is stunning, that means dont play any game, there isnt a single game out there without bugs buddy.

Stop crying and go improve your English

Hell yeah brother
