I keep getting all these paragon chest mounts that I will never use and didn’t even know existed…but the one I’m actually grinding for? Nope. LOL
Hey, I have my trio of alpacas and my purple bug mount, so I’m happy. If it doesn’t happen, it doesn’t happen. I’ll have the bee before next week ends, as well, so I’m trying to comfort myself with that.

Patches do not drop on Fridays.
They drop on Tuesdays after maintenance. So chances are it’s either this week on the 22nd (backed up by the fact that the pre-patch is already on the background downloader) or it’s next week, the 29th.

I for one would be very glad to see the patch on the 22nd, but what’s really starting to irritate me is that they won’t even say when it is.

Cloak upgrades don’t matter. They were a soft nerf to content and them ending just means that’s as far as the soft nerf will go. They will announce the end of the pvp season though, and they haven’t yet.
Debatable, that hasn’t always been their policy, and they’ve always been super flexible with the dates.
Again, the fact that the pre-patch is already on the background downloader is telling. Patch data does not get uploaded to the background downloader until the patch is ready to drop, and it usually drops the week after it gets uploaded in most cases.

Yes, and it feels like everyone else has to wait for PvP.
It is annoying that we’re probably bound to those dates, and the patch is likely waiting for that to end, when it truth it could release earlier.
They aren’t adding anything major at this point it seems, and tweaks and balances are for the 9.0.2 client which is not the prepatch.
given that Blizzard have given at least 11 days of notice for the end of the pvp season in the past, i think people should expect the pre-patch Oct 6.

Of the mirad of reasons why I wish SE ran this game. Jesus Christ the transparency they give the players of FFXIV is refreshing in comparison.

Since they nerfed the pre-patch event to the ground making it pretty much none-existant I wouldn’t even care if there is no pre-patch and we jump directly into shadowland.

I don’t pvp but I’m curious, what is the purpose of waiting?
There isn’t anybody waiting, really, unless you really need that last bit of inflation to help you.
The final week however is when you make your final push. R1 is not a set rating but instead a percentage of the ladder (top 0.1%) so you have to make sure you are above that. That’s why people need notice of when the season ends, to make sure they have the rating on the last day night of the season as the servers shut down.

Thank you! Sounds exciting, also stressful since we don’t have a date yet. I imagine people would be up in arms about it if Blizz just dropped the patch without an official warning beforehand.

How exactly? The background download for Legion’s pre-patch started 3 weeks prior to it.
