How is survival doing in prepatch? Interested in both pvp and pve perspectives. Thanks
Damage wise idk (don’t have addons installed atm). Playstyle is almost exactly the same as BFA, however it is nice to have kill shot back.
Surv feels fine for pvp, still has a really good kit and the damage is still there.
Mongoose still near mandatory or is tip of the spear competitive? How about Chakrams?
I haven’t testes the other talents much yet. But mongoose feels good.
I think Tip of the Spear might be a competitive choice now but I would have to run more dungeons to tell but it seems like a good alternative if you hate mongoose bite.
That sounds good. I don’t hate mongoose nite really but it requires consistent time on target during your bite window which makes bursting with it somewhat easily counterable if the targets not locked down.
With TotS I can go in and just get 2-3 raptor strikes off and get back out which is nice in pvp.
Chakrams have been super OP for me in PvP. Before I burst or clear my latent poison stack with Mongoose Bite, I use Chakrams to increase the damage on the target by 100%. I’ve noticed that at times I’m able to to 4v1 other melee classes and win in BGs. I macro’d Hunter’s Mark with my harpoon, so it’s super convenient now. But it still feels clunky and overwhelming to play. If I don’t do it just right I flop. However, I’ve only been doing PvP, so I’m not sure about what’s good for PvE.
That doesn’t seem very useful. Hunters Mark is used solely to cover traps and keep stealthies visible since the dmg has been taken off.
What are you doing to the other talents?!
Mega rip…
No mention of Revive Pet, I’m surprised.
I have mixed feelings on the revive pet change. I don’t mind that pet death is more meaningful, but it absolutely cripples both sv and bm. Pets in pvp aren’t terribly difficult to lock down as it is.
If they had bothered to make pet management an actual thing rather than just leaving pets a free kill and making it insane to get them back I could be on board.
But they didn’t. If anything, pets are squishier than before.
It’s very nice for rogues and helps in bgs with target calling, I also have it on another bar, but it’s so forgettable to use with the plethora of other abilities. I just listed that tip as a way to help people who forget like me.
Edit: And Hunter’s Mark increased damage by 5% when I first posted my response. So it was viable to do that. They have removed that increase.
